Charity is a humanitarian act. Benefit of charity is a vast subject. It depends upon individual. If you have strong belief in Dharma and Karma, then by doing charity you can get rid of life cycle and achieve Moksha. Otherwise just consider it a humanitarian act. Perform this act for needy person. Actually charity starts from your home. If needy person like widow, orphan ailing and old person is in your home, so do your charity for them.
Now a days charity is misused. Charity/donations are exempted from income tax. Businessmen and person earning from illegal sources give charity to their own men and convert black money into white. Coming to your query charity is very noble act. It gives you self satisfaction and a self satisfied person achieve everything in his/her life.

Charity is a kind act if such charity can be utilised for the upgradation of life of unprivileged children - such as providing their educational expenses, nurturing best educational support or providing medical - assistance to the poors and needy of the societies and in that way, the true satisfaction can be achieved.
Donation to temple or hospital would not serve the ailing humanity and as such this is not a fair kind of charity.
Use of the charity lies in the improvement of the standard of down trodden people by way of providing medical assistance or encouraging the poor children to persue studies and they should be provided money to meet their educational assistance. To provide the expenses of nutritional foods and fruits of the village - children is also a noble charity.
There are some trusts where you can offer charity and can enjoy the benifit of income tax under section of 80 C.
Charity can provide you extreme mental satisfaction and you can feel that your money is rightly invested for a noble cause.
The best form of charity is to serve the humanity and so there may be many forums and it all depends upon you which path you choose to make the ailing humanity better.

The rule of Karma says one has to pay what he or she has done by performing any action but out of many possible way to pay, if you do charity, it can help you in many ways. First it will make you happy, second you will relieve from fruits of karma. It can even makes you religiously better person. Charity also gives you tax benefits and thus it can help you financially.

Most of the people donate because they want to have a positive karma. And this way they often think they are getting something good back in return. Instead of solving social problems, they donate to god thinking they have helped the humanity. The most important point here is that people donate to the popular temples such as balaji, shirdi and few others. The reason the price of donation goes high there is because they assume their wishes come true there.

Charity if not goes to the living people is basically not helping the society. And also it is not liberating anyone financially either. Most of the religious charities don't go to the poor. Instead they make the rich people in the foundation even more richer. And this makes you rethink whether to donate or not.

At the end, It all comes down to personal wishes and the belief. So we have to respect the belief and action of others.

Charity is the help in cash or kind a person who 'has' provides to one or more who 'have-not' that thing or facility. Charity reaches the end beneficiary in full or part either directly or indirectly from the charity giver.
Charity is born out of empathy and sympathy in an individual to his fellow beings . Generally religious faiths believe that one who can should help others who are less fortunate than oneself. Charity is considered a noble act by all faiths. Hence each person gives a little from his own income or wealth in charity in some way. As one person alone may not be able to provide the full needed assistance, there are many organisations to pol the charity from individuals and then direct the charity to the needy.

However there are some very wealthy individuals who had acquired much wealth, who then want a pat of it to be beneficial to others. They start some foundations or organisations for charity purposes. Charity ventures are generally given encouragement by government also by giving tax concessions.

It is believed that it is those charitable acts done by us that come to our rescue when our soul has to undergo suffering for sins committed. Each one can do some charitable deed according to one's capacity and need not be highly wealthy.

Hi, Charity should be a part of every ones life. As per our epics, the concept of donation came just to remove sins. The person who receive donation is indirectly receiving the other ones sin and saving that person. That is slso called Biksha.

Now both persons should be eligible to donate or receive donation. One person should be in need of that thing and the other one should be in a position to give.

Donating a correct person or a needy person gives immense happiness and satisfaction. A very hungry person needs food rather than money. It provides enormous pleasure to the food donar.

Hence my point is donate human who are needy rather than donating temples or hospitals.

The concept of charity was born with the evolution of human society. In a society everyone is not equal. Some are rich some are poor. Every religion in some way or other advocates for some sort of charity from those who can afford it for the benefit of poor fellows.
The person who has given charity feels happy that he helped the needy.
In almost all the religions it is told that if you worship God you will be awarded what for you desired. This lead to offerings by devotees. This isa spiritual link also.
Hospitals are supposed to be doing a noble work of treating the ill persons. Some person feel that helping hospitals financially will help them in doing their job in a better way.
Charity and donations for good cause are always to be praised. At the same time if this is done for one's own selfish motive or spiritual gain the results are questionable.

    Knowledge is power.

In many religions charity is prescribed as a method to gain good wishes in return. If you earn good amount of money then you are supposed to give away a portion of it in charity. Many people believe that if they give something in charity God will give them back much more than that.
Many people donate to hospitals and temples feeling that these institutions are doing a good service to the humanity.
Charity to very poor and downtrodden is also considered as a good cause though people will have different opinion on that.
Satisfaction is also derived from donations and a state of mental calmness can be obtained. This aspect is spiritual in nature.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Charity is a humanitarian doing. We have enough and some one is not having to eat. Providing him food is charity.Charity is a good deed which will pay back to you in the form of Moksha. Some many not accept this theory.

I know some people who will not take their lunch unless otherwise one guest is there with them to eat. There is a saying in Telugu that Food donation is the best donation. If some one visits your house around lunch time you should offer him lunch.

There are many Orphans living in Orphan houses. we donate clothes, books and food to them. Helping a blind man crossing the road is also charity. By doing this you are sparing your time helping the blind person to cross the road safely.

There is another saying in Telugu. Don't donate to a undeserved person. If you are donating something please see the need of the other person. If you give ten rupees to some one poor, he should use it for a need of his family. Instead if he is wasting money for consuming alcohol or cigarettes don't show him any charity.

Charity has both physical and spiritual benefits. When a person donate to a temple or hospital his/her name is known by many more. Some times his/her name is written on the wall of temple or hospital.His/Her name is known by many and more. The positive thinking of others about him/her help .He/She spends his/her life peacefully. When we give happiness ,we get happiness.Spiritually one should donate some money to temple.Temples are the places from where we get strength in lives. When one shows gratitude towards God by donating temples ,God gives him/her more and more wealth.

Charity Means daan in Hindi has a own benefits in a both way i.e. in a physical way and in a spiritual way. There are many types of charity available but here we talk about charity in temples, hospitals etc.
Then yes charity is very good in a various way as like if you give charity to temples then some temples notified under section 80 G, you can claim exemption/deduction under this section in form of donation.
Sometimes if you give charity in temples in a very huge amount, in this case your name will be printed on the wall of temple or any other place of temples specially in a village areas.

By charity we can satisfied our self, satisfied our soul, we think that today we have done one good work that we give charity to another person.

In ancient time charity is used to relate with dharma (Hindi word) i.e. in ancient time charity is equal to great work.
By charity, in society many person get pride or honor.

So charity gives us both benefits i.e. physical and spiritual.
