Is B.Com Computer Application vocational course equivalent to O level computer course of one year

Have a query about eligibility for the post of a o. clerk? Wondering if vocational course in B.Com is eligible for this post? Check out this page for responses from experts.

Is B.Com Computer Application(Vocational) eligible in a Govt. clerk job where the required qualification is B.Com and one year O level Computer course?
I read in this site as per Kerala High Court order B.Com Computer Application Vocational Computer subject in all three courses of Computer is equivalent to O level computer course of one year.
Can you provide Kerala High Court judgement order copy regarding the above matter.

DOEACC society (renamed as NIELIT) has a O level program as a basic and foundation course in information technology or computer sciences.

Now the program mentioned by you - BCom computer application is also a computer program which may have some features common with O level but it does not make it equivalent to it.

Please remember academically there may be similarities between any two programs but until it is recognised by some institutions for a particular purpose it does not serve the intended objective.

So these two programs are not equivalent.

    Knowledge is power.

The reply is there in your question itself. Already there is a judgement from High Court saying that B.Com Computer applications is equal to O level computer course of one year. So you can apply for that post. You can get the copy of that judgment from any practicing lawyer in court. If you feel you can attach a copy of that judgement to the application. ALready you have a degree and it is equivalent to the certificate asked by the employer. So logically they should accept. So nothing wrong in applying. Go ahead and 100% I feel that they will definitely consider your candidature for the mentioned post. All the best to you.

You can apply confidently for any job requiring certification of O level and the very nature of the two courses may be different but recognition of the courses may be alike. Moreover, you may produce the copy of the judgement of Kerala High Court in the event any query raised by the Employer if such a situation arises.
Under the existing circumstances, it would be better to concentrate on the revision of the course which you took up earlier. Face the interview confidently and in case the employer asks regarding the recognition of the course equivalent to O level, the judgement copy of the court under your possession will remove any suspicion of the Employer.
