There are many universities and colleges which offer distance mode or external courses in engineering stream also.

Unfortunately few days back supreme court has passed a verdict that the engineering degrees by distant mode are not legally valid. In this changed scenario it is not advisable to go for such courses.

Anyway there is no harm in studying the course material of such courses oneself as it will help you to gain knowledge and exposure to higher academics which eventually may help you in getting elevation in the present job.

First, you have to analyze whether distance education or part-time Engineering course will help for your career growth. So get advice from your seniors in your workplace whether it will help for your promotions and will they consider the part-time course for your promotion or increment.

If you got a positive result, you can apply for Engineering course in Computer Science and Engineering since you completed the same course in your diploma. There may be some rules that you have to attend or present for some classes and practicals. So make sure that you can able to be present. Otherwise, you will not get any issue and after completing the course, you can claim for promotion and increment as per your company norms.

Distance mode education in respect of branches of Engineering lack the quality being persued in the regular mode and also the practicals of different subjects cannot be carried out in the similar way as is being done in regular classes of the Engineering - colleges. Moreover, a judgement of the supreme - court has come out recently banning the validity of the courses through distance - mod.
Hence, you may choose a safe option of achieving a course equivalent to degree - level of Engineering. Keeping in view of the quality of the cirriculam and its overhaul recognition in both fields - education and in different sectors of the service, AMIE is the ideal course to be persued. You may join a reputed coaching institute for the guidance in your preparation for the same course and in the long run, you would be immensely be benifited.

There are some deemed to be Universities all over India which offer B.E/B.Tech degree through correspondence. However, Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, in a very recent judgement, has decided that the engineering degrees by distant mode are not legally valid. So, to obtain engineering degree through correspondence won't serve any purpose.

In spite of this judgement, if you want to pursue B.E/B.Tech through correspondence, check Karnataka Open University (as you reside in Karnataka) or IGNOU websites. The degree offered by these UGC-recognised universities can't be declared invalid so easily.

    Caution: Explosive. Handle with care.

There are many universities providing B.Tech/B.E course study in night college to working professionals. Andhra University is one such University. Similarly, all over India, there are many Universities like that. As there is a problem in distance education technical degrees I suggest you join in these colleges and you can attend the college after office hours. For all practical purposes, this is equivalent to the regular course.

Please do not opt distant learning course for engineering. Supreme Court has restrained all deemed universities across the country from continuing any distance learning courses from the academic year including engineering.
Better hunt for job or do part time job as you are doing along with degree engineering study.
There are many positions in municipal corporations for diploma engineering students. Please read about it or inquire.
Direct SE in engineering don't have entrance test so if you have good score then secure good college which gives placements in final year. Since you already have job experience you will be selected easily in job placements.

With the current issues of not recongnsing distance education engineering courses. It would be better for you to decide to do a regular BTec/BE- CSE coourse so that you don't waster your time and hard earned money.
    The options for me are
    1. you can check among the colleges in Dharwad only or in Belgaum or Hubli that are close to you.
Since you have done your Diploma in CSE for 3 years,You can check with the college whether they will allow you take exemptions for your previous Diploma in CSE.
If yes, then very good you can start your Bachelor of Engineering in Comptuer Science and Engineering or your B.TEch

2.Many engineering colleges seats are running vacant for lack of students, try and find out from the colleges if you can do the course part time or get at least an exemption for 1-2 years or try getting a job in the same college campus which should be worth a try.

3.If not you can choose an evening college for your further studies in BE-CSE and B.TEch adn then join a partime job in either teaching or as a service engineer in the same city.
Once you choose the combination - Day time college and Evening working or Evening working with day time college then you can plan your next move. It would be ideal if your find this in Dharwad, if not be prepared to move to a different city
Again here you can choose Mangalore or Bangalore in addition to the above three places ( Dharwad, Hubli,Belguam).
