I feel what you proposed is the best option. If you want a little cheaper version you can go for HP OMEN Core i7 7th Gen - (16 GB/1 TB HDD/256 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/8 GB Graphics) 17-w250TX Gaming Laptop (17.3 inches, Black) which will be costing you around Rs1.80.00/-

Yes, Alienware 17 is a best choice if you are looking for gaming pc with high configuration. It is also called as gaming pc which is highly suggestable for using design software and gaming purpose. If here designing software means photoshop, corel draw, illustrator, indesign,... etc then you can run it in any of the cheap laptop. I used all the designing softwares in Dell inspirion old model and there is not any problem using those software. For gaming purpose alienware17 is best. Alienware is a family of Dell. Uniquely designed compared to others laptop. The logo of alienware, touchpad, keyboard with backlight and light stripes on the side of deck. It also has Tobi eye tracking to play games with your peepers.

Most professionals into software designing prefer a high end laptop with a higher RAM battery and graphics card. So, they choose the good sturdy Gaming laptops with many built in features including coolers etc. Based on their job/professional needs they choose the popular Alienware 17. The good competitors for Alienware 17 are three popular and good brands RazerBlade Pro and MSI.

2.In this class, Alienware 17 (lauched in July 2017) comes after Acer Predator 21x, a much more expensive (almost around 4.5 lakhs) with intel corei7, dual NVIDIA Geoforce GTX1080GPUs in SLI.It has a 21 inch screen with memory of 4TB SSD & 64 GB DDR4 RAM. This has the ultimate graphics experience.

Alienware 17 is follwed by Razer Blade Pro and MSI stealth Pro.

2.The MSI stealthpro gaming laptop has a15.6 inch screen. Kabylake core i7, 1TB NIVIDIA GeForeceGTX1070,512 GB priced around 2.10 lakhs

3.The Razer Blade Pro comes with GeForce GTX 1060, 7th Gen Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. It is priced at around 2.2 lakhs.

Please check the exact price on delivery and you can further check for more details on techradar gadgetsnow and gadgets.ndtv.com and then make you choice.

For software engineering and developer, one needs high configuration from CPU high clock speed to avoid freezing and lagging while writing codes. You will also need a laptop That includes VGA port, a fingerprint reader and even a 4G/LTE modem and A-GPS.

Most professional prefers minimum 8GB RAM to Maximum 16GB RAM for smooth function without ado. My personal recommendations from Think Digit Geek Zero one winner awards laptop is Toshiba Portege Z30-C-138. It has the following configuration.

    CPU: 2.5GHz Intel Core i7-6500U
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 520
    RAM: 16GB
    Screen: 13.3-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixels
    Storage: 512GB SSD

The RAM is amazing. On the top of this the Battery backup is 12 hours which is very enough to write a block of whole software codes.

When you go out and look to buy high end configuration laptops for software work, one should prefer SSD or solid state transfer drive rather than HDD hard disk drives. HDD are very slow and low performances.

Hackers never learns but always wins!
