There are various career options after completing computer engineering course. You have to see what is your line of interest.

The main areas are network and computer system administration, system software development, computer network support specialist, hardware engineer, application software development etc. You have to see where your interest lies and if required you can do some short course from some good computer academy and then apply for the corresponding jobs. Please keep an eye on various job positions in job sites in internet so that you can catch the jobs in your area of interest.

    Knowledge is power.

    Greetings.
The number BTech CSE students are increasing day by day and the competition is very heavy. Getting a job in the desired field is not a cake walk these days. But nothing is impossible these days. I would suggest you to keep following all the MNC websites for any career openings. There are many companies which hire freshers. Since you are working in BPO, any job that is relevant to your profile and which is not a BPO will consider you as a fresher.
Create a decent CV/Resume. Add symbols or logos to your CV such as the institution you have studied, the project you have done etc. Make a colorful resume which will attract the HR's of different companies. Make sure you sign up into most of the job portals like monster, naurki, times jobs etc. Open a professional profile in Linkedin website. This is largest professional social website which brings together employees and employers. Make sure you have a profile in it. You can also search and apply for jobs via Linkedin.
And coming to certification courses, there are many certified courses that add extra advantage to your profile. Some of them are:

    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer For Web Applications.
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Windows Server.
    • Software Development Associate Certification.
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate.
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing And Switching.
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate Security Credential.
    • Comptia's Security+
    • Comptia's A+ Certification
    • Comptia's Linux+
    • Project Management Professional.
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
    • Certified Scrummaster.
    • Certified Information Security Manager.
    • Certified In Risk And Information Systems Control.
    • Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional Credential.
    • Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization.
    • Hacking: Certified Ethical Hacker.
    • Google Developer Certification - Google Developers.

You can also tune your skills by learning other programming languages such as PHP, Python, C ++, C#, Java, Objective C, Ruby, SQL etc. Any course other than your bachelor's degree will definitely add extra weightage your profile.
    Good Luck.

    Thank You

There is a high level of competition in Computer Science Engineering fields. Many aspiring students join this after hearing about 100% campus placement and the dream of a good paying IT job. There are many reports of unemployed CSE graduates over the last couple of years.

Please give your CV a re-make and highlight your strengths. Register in many of the popular employment and employment-oriented social sites. Please consider www.naukri.com, www.fresherworld.com, www.engwave.com, www.indeed.co.in and jobs.engistan.com. Also register on linkedin too. Renew your contacts in BHEL and use them as your referees and try to get a job opening or an intern opening if nothing clicks.

Instead of just choosing a certification course, learn more about the technologies in the IT industry that are crucial in the growth of IT in the next couple of years. Learn about the impact of newer programs and automation and its impact on IT. People focus on traditional language platforms and then find that they are outdated. Learn new language and platforms, try your best to work on live projects even if you are an intern. Certificates alone do not get a job, your hands on practice are also crucial.

Focus on certification courses that would be useful for your employment as switching expert in the network transition area, for instance, you can select CISCO certified network associate course that focusses on routing and switching. Consider the language courses that would be useful for 2018-19 like PERL, Python, Swift, Ruby on Rails, etc.

The best option would be to join as Technical- support associates helping the executives working in the call centre.
Focus on the demands on the future and try to have a certification- course in much sought after modules like Java, Oracle, C++, Linux + etc.
You need the upgrade your your knowledge in the computer field and acquire proficiency in both oral and written skills. In that way, you can impress the Board of Interview. Brush up of the skills with your existing qualification can make you eligible for the selection in the campus - interviews where there are active participations of renowned IT employers.
    Make your resume attractive.
Get yourself registered in Naukari.com or any other consultancy which can connect you with some promising employers operating in IT field.

If computer science is really your interest area then you can think of taking up a course in the relevant branch like networking or software development etc. so that your prospects of getting a job increase.
You have an option of applying for executive positions in many PSUs like NTPC, ONGC, Coal India, IOC etc and can appear in their respective entrance exams. Though there is a rush for such places but with preparations and hard work you can get through.
Another option is going for NET after qualifying which you can apply for lecturship in colleges.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
