Medical tests required for a complete Preventive health check up

Interested in a complete health checkup? Searching for the list of tests and hospitals where these tests can be carried out? You can read the responses from experts decide how to plan the complete health checkup.

Myself and my wife are senior citizens (73 & 68 years of age) and have been getting our medical examination done every year. However I would like to know what all tests do we really require for a complete check up?
We are generally healthy except that I have osteoporosis and my wife has high BP, cholesterol and thyroid problem (we have been taking medicines for the same and it is under control).
I would also like to know which hospital/s would you recommend where we can get all the tests recommended by you at a reasonable cost under their 'Preventive Health Check' packages? I live in South Delhi.

SRL Diagnostics' Blood Urine Collection (BUC) Box is a sealed, one-time use box containing all components required for safe home collection. With BUC Box, they can collect blood test and urine test samples from your doorstep. They have a health check-up package. It may cost around 3000 to 3500 rupees per person. They have branches in New Delhi.
The Appollo APOLLO WHOLE BODY CHECK-UP. The Appollo Hospitals will do all the test required at a very reasonable rate. You can contact any of the Appollo Hospitals near your place. This is recommended for aged people as a preventive measure.
The Medanta Executive Whole Body Check is a good package for men and women. It will cover a range of tests and diagnostics. The package will have all tests covering basic blood tests that provide close attention to your heart, kidney, liver, cancer screening and bone health. In addition to the testing, they may provide a specialist for advice. The cost will be about Rs.18000/-. You can contact any mediciti hospitals in your area.

Master health check is something that is useful for people who beleive in modern medicine and the importance of prevention. Some of them think it's a marketing gimmick by the coprorate hospital.

As our age advances, the number of tests and the specialists to be seen also increases

However I would like to know what all tests do we really require for a complete check up?

Check the above and then Please choose a good hospital ( Apollo Hospitals, Max Health Care) that has in house consultants in an actual hospital, rather than just a lab service.
Please check with your children, if they have any corporate health cover, it would usually cover such checks for parents.

You can also enquire about senior citizen discount of 10% that many hospitals offer. Please be prepared for at least half a day's worth of time for getting all these. Keep some water handy, ask for a flow chart and the name/number of the health check co-coordinator as it is easy to get lost at different counters. Avoid Mondays and Saturdays as these are the busy days for the checks. Lastly, if you are not used to exercise, please start practicing walking and brisk walking if possible because, the treadmill test will run at increasing speeds and inclines.
