    AYUSH Admissions and Counselling 2018

Planning to study BAMS? Looking out for detailed admission procedure and cut off dates for counselling? Check out this page for advice to all your queries from experts.

What is the schedule for AYUSH admissions? When is it gonna begin? And Like MBBS/BDS is there any All India Quota counselling for AYUSH courses? Around what date admission process is gonna start and which site is gonna host admissions to AYUSH courses (Preferably in Punjab & Haryana)? My NEET score is 318. What are the chances for me to get seat in BAMS? I belong to general Category and have Punjab Domicile.
Can I apply for admission in other states as well?

Students, for admission in BAMS courses, must appear in the counselling process. The counselling will be conducted by each State Government separately for admission in their respective State.
It is very clear that applicants must be NEET qualified. Mere appearance in the NEET exam does not authorize any students to claim admission in college. The Central Government has strictly directed all the State Authorities to follow the rules. No admission will be granted without appearing in the counselling. Candidates must go through the counselling process of the State. Counselling will be held anytime from July to September 2018.
you can apply to other states also but you must go through the counselling guidelines of the concerned State and ensure if they are asking for domicile certificate or not. If not then you can apply.

For Punjab, the NEET counselling has started on 8th June and the second round of counselling is expected to be completed by 3rd week of August.
I have checked many educational website including the college websites in Punjab. There is NO announcement related to your query.

I would suggest, keep yourself prepared, it is likely to be started soon. This being the first year of NEET mandatory guided AYUSH admissions, there would a lot of confusion and hence a delay is more likely.

You can try contacting the Guru Ravidas Ayurved University (01882-282326), keeping checking for announcment in the local papers and education websites (https://www.sarvgyan.com/articles/punjab-neet-counselling) etc.

You can register in sites like this to get specific updates related to GRAU admissions to BAMS,BHMS etc.

I just checked the government website (http://ayush.gov.in/education/education-policies). The last annoucement (26 June 2018) is guidelines for Central Government nominations to BAMS,BSMS,BHMS 2018-19. YOu can check this site also regularly. A few of students like you can contact the AYUSH information manager for reliable information (http://ayush.gov.in/contact-us) 1800-11-22-02 (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM)

Once you are qualified in the NEET with a dignified rank, you are allowed for the counselling to be conducted for each state government. The first round of councelling in some of the states like Punjab started in the first week of June and still the process is not over.
As indicated by you regarding your ranking ( Ranking being 318 in your NEET score), there is every possibility of your selection in the Punjab - state. However, you have to ensure yourself regarding the possession of the same. You have to be present on the date of counselling as decided by the admission - committee along with your relevant documents and any lapse on your part to reach your counselling centre will disqualify you from the candidature.
Detailed information in this regard can be obtained from the Ayush Information Manager.

Till 2017, exam for admission to Ayush was carried out through CPAT (Combined Pre-Ayush Test).

Now with effect from 2018 it is decided to take candidates for admission to Ayush based on their performance in NEET. As it is a new change the exact situation of NEET score versus admission will only be clear after a few initial years.

So NEET is now mandatory not only for MBBS and BDS but also for Ayush.

The counselling is state wise and one has to register for it. In some states like Rajasthan it is already over and in some it is going on or will start shortly. Some states like Tamilnadu has taken exemption and going for old system.

    Knowledge is power.
