Both sociology and education are concerned with the well being of the society. In your thread above you have spoken at length about sociology but said nothing about education. Sociology is a broad subject covering almost every aspect of life which includes all social institutions like marriage, family life, rural and urban life, culture and traditions, attitude towards religion, casteism etc. But education is concerned with only the educational development of human beings in all these environments. Since education has the effect on all the social institutions mentioned herein, it has become of utmost importance in the society. The society we study in the sociology undergoes transitional changes as the education develops in the society. Education in fact has been described as the socialization of the younger generation. As such both sociology and education are deeply inter-related.
