I agree that Google is taking some extra time to approve accounts. However, I have tried adBrite in the past and it is not effective as Google. Also, they do not have a 'revenue sharing program'.
We are currently using Kontera, but the revenue from Kontera is not significant at all.
I am not familiar with CPXInteractive (which indicates that it is not a popular program)

Your suggestions are good. Alternative sources of income are definitely good. But the reliability of the source is also very important.
