BREAK YOUR STRESS HABITS IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE
Stress has been called the"Disease of the Twentieth century",and it is believed to cause more illness than anything else known to modern medicine. For most of us, stress has become a habit we just can't seem to kick.
For years, doctors have been warning us that stress is harmful to our health; being exposed to it on a regular basis can trigger major problems such as cancer, hypertension, and coronary heart disease. The latest evidence indicates that it could be a major factor in the jump from HIV infection to active AIDS.
I want responses from people about kinds of stress ,symptoms of stress mangement and how to overcome stress

Hi Sobha,

Everyone is familiar with stress. We experience it in varying forms and degrees every day. In small doses, stress can actually be beneficial to us. It is only when the stress becomes too great, affecting our physical or mental functioning, that it becomes a problem.

In small doses, stressors can help give us increased energy and alertness, even helping to keep us focused on the problem at hand. This type of stress is good. People may refer to the experience of this type of stress as feeling "pumped" or "wired."
As the level of pressure gets too great, stress eventually surpasses our ability to cope with it in a positive way. Often, people describe themselves as being stressed out, burned out, or at wits end. At this point, it is important to find positive and productive ways to deal with the stress and, more importantly, to address the person or situation that is causing the stress.
Everyone reacts to stress differently. Each of us has a different level of pressure and anxiety that we can handle without a bad outcome. Only you can assess your level of tolerance to stressful situations. The best treatment for stress is to prevent getting into situations that are likely to overwhelm your ability to cope. This is not always possible because the stressors may often come from outside sources that are beyond your control.

Stress Symptoms

Stress usually first affects the inner emotions. Initial symptoms may include the following feelings:

Anxiousness
Nervousness
Distraction
Excessive worry
Internal pressure

These emotional states can then begin to affect a person's outward appearance:

Unusually anxious or nervous
Distracted
Self-absorbed
Irritable

As the stress level increases, or if it lasts over a longer period of time, a person may begin to feel more severe emotional or physical effects:

Excessive fatigue
Depression
Sometimes even think of hurting yourself or others
Headaches
Nausea and vomiting
Diarrhea
Chest pain or pressure
Heart racing
Dizziness or flushing
Tremulousness or restlessness
Hyperventilation or choking sensation

In most cases, these symptoms are very minor and don't last very long. If they become more severe or increase in frequency and severity, seek medical help.

As said stress has become part of our life in this cmpetetive world.
We can do few things regularly to keep ourselves from stress like:
1)Doing regular exercise (Yoga is the best solution)
2)Having good friends and good family members as well so that as and when you are back from home you can forget your office work.
3)Maintaining good diet.
4)Having more fruits.
5)Listemning to good music when you feel stressed.
6)Taking regular breaks while you work.

These are few technics to overcome stress.

Cheers!

Yoga and pets the greatest stress buster. We all have heard or read about it, but only if you practice it will you know about its benefits. In a fast paced life, with all tensions at work and home, you need to find time to rejuvenate your energies. Partying all night after a stressed job is not the solution. The best way is to practice yoga. It relaxes your mind and soul and ensures that you heal yourself from within. A half an hour session everyday, early in the morning can get you going throughout the day. Ensuring that you maintain such a practice for a long run will show definite results. You need not go to a yoga class if you do not have the time or the facility nearby. Just pick any yoga book with illustrations and do some simple exercises daily. If you do cannot bring yourself to that discipline, you need to enroll for a brief session and once you have got yourself in the groove, you can carry on from there.

Pets are another great stress busters. If you do not have any, you can start with a fish tank for a start and progress slowly to cats or dogs as per your convenience.

Hi Sobha,

Yoga and meditation plays a vital role in our daily life. Some diseases are controlled only by yoga and meditation. But how many people are following the same. Yoga is now a days taught in the school itself. If the children start practicing the same from the childhood, it becomes a routine in their life. Atleast they will have good health. The people who practice yoga regularly will be stress free. They will have cool mind. No depression etc.
