Thank God! No Indian cricketer is involved in the unfortunate incident at Harare

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur on Sunday quashed reports of an Indian cricketer being held by the police for allegedly raping a woman in Harare, saying the allegations are completely untrue and neither the player nor the match official is found involved in the incident. Thakur said: "There is no truth in this allegation. There is no Indian cricketer or any match official involved in the incident. They have nothing to do with the incident." Indian cricket team is presently touring Zimbabwe.

Thousands of Indian cricket fans would heave a sigh of relief by this news. Earlier, Indians were dumb-struck when the news of arrest of an unnamed Indian cricketer came in connection with the unfortunate incident at Harare, Zimbabwe.

A women had alleged that that she had been drugged and then assaulted at the Meikles Hotel in Harare. Incidentally the Indian cricket team was staying at the same hotel which led to the rumors that an Indian cricketer was involved in the unfortunate incidence. The Zimbabwean media went to the extent of reporting that the India's ambassador to Zimbabwe had tried to prevent the player's arrest at the hotel. However an Indian associated with one of the sponsors has been arrested, but he too is pleading innocence and has said that he is ready for a DNA test to prove his innocence.
The Indian team had already swept the ODI's by 3-0 and is currently competing in a three match T 20 series.

Let us encourage each other in sharing knowledge.
