Aishwarya Pradhan - India's first transgender civil servant!Born as Ratikanta Pradhan, a native of the Kanabagiri village in Orissa's Kandhamal district, Aishwarya Pradhan is now serving in Odisha Financial Services as a Commercial Tax Officer at Paradip Port Township. During her student days, she was once humiliated by her teacher in school and later sexually abused by her peers in a college hostel. Aishwarya Rutuparna Pradhan's journey of coming out of the dark ghetto of old-age notion is nothing less than an ordeal.
Despite getting into the prestigious Orissa State Civil Services as a male in 2010, it took her more than five years before she could make her identity as a transgender public. Thanks to Supreme Court's judgement dated 15th April, 2014 which has recognised transgenders under the third gender category, she has now made her transgender identity public,
Aishwarya Pradhan has done her Post-Graduation in Public Administration and has also studied English Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
