This time there won't be lavish new year eve bash

We all know the ordinary citizens are going through the severe cash crunch and the banks are not able to meet the personal cash requirements on daily basis. The salaries are not credited and disbursed to the account holders. In this situation the coming Christmas and New Year seems to be a simple affair as people cannot think of spending nor they have the money to do so. Moreover the last date of demonetization is 30th Dec and the next day is the new year eve. So people would be more interested as to what would be the next announcement from our PM rather than spending time at parties on the new year eve.

I agree there wont be lavish new year celebrations this time as everyone are facing difficulties because of the demonetization. But there are many people who prefer going cashless and use their debit cards or credit cards for purchases made, hotels, booking etc. Even to get vegetables they go to malls so that they can use their card. Most people celebrate new year with friends in a different place. So if people prefer cashless then they book tickets online and use card for all expenses. Even if they celebrate in their own city, they might use cards. But among others who do not prefer card, they might not show much interest in the new year celebrations and might just keep it simple by wishing their near and dear ones.

New year celebrations are very often listed to middle class or upper middle class section of the population. These category can manage following the cashless system. The lower category may keep off from this celebration. Many of the salaried belong to the lower group. They might wish to join the celebration but may have to control.
