Dog walks 600 Kilometers with Sabarimala pilgrim38 year old Naveen is a resident of Kozhikode and is an employee of Kerala State Electricity Board. He undertook a journey to Sabarimala Temple this year. It was a 600 Kilometer journey. He completed it in seventeen days. And throughout the journey, a stray dog, now named Malu, accompanied Naveen. Naveen has stated that he tried to shoo away the stray dog several times during the journey, but the dog never left and accompanied him throughout the journey keeping at a distance of aboutt 20 Metres from Naveen. Later Naveen took special permission to make arrangeements to bring back the dog with him. Now the dog is also a resident of Naveen's home in Beypore, Kozhikode.
By the way, Malu is the short form of "Mallikappuram", a term used to denote the female devotees of Sabarimala.
