Three brilliant hockey players of India-a quiz

    (i) I was considered one of the greatest hockey players of India. I won two Olympic golds for the country. I was the first Indian sportman to win Helms Trophy. I was severely depressed after India's dismal performance in 1976 Olympics. I died in 1978 from an injury caused by a bullet of my own gun. Do you recall me?

(ii) I was considered the best full-back of the world during the seventies. I was the penalty-corner specialist of Indian hockey team. I was a member of World Hockey XI in 1973 and 1974. I died in a road accident in my native state of Punjab. Do you remember me?

(iii) Most probably you have heard about my father, one of the greatest hockey players of the country. I followed my illustrous father. I started playing for India only at an age of 18. But I died in a bike accident in Calcutta at an age of 19. Try to recall my name without searching Google.

There could be 2 reasons for no response to this quiz:
    (i) We cannot answer without consulting Google as we are not having GK about the hockey players you are referring to.

(ii) You posted a thread about monotonous threads - well, you had already posted a similar quiz just a few days ago, so repeating the same type brings monotony due to disinterest in attempting the same type of quiz again in such a short time. You should pace the activities you post in such a manner (only once a month, for example) so as to maintain the interest of the members.

When people come at you with their worst, you should come at them with your best (advice given to Selena Gomez by her mother, quoted in Time magazine.)

#588373: If we can answer questions on Mahi's hair style or Yuvraj's wife, then why can't we remember KD Singh Babu or Surjit Singh Randhawa, who are very famous in world hockey? Yes, I admit that third one was really difficult and I know about Robert Claudius because he was from Calcutta. But his father Leslie Claudius was another greatest.
