Gen. Bipin Rawat, COAS, has issued stern warning!

During last week's Bandipora encounter against the Pakistani terrorists, the security forces could not use full force due to the violent protests of the Pakistani sympathisers. As a result, only one terrorist was killed and an Army Major was martyred. The other terrorists escaped the Army net. Throughout the operation, the mob resorted to stone-pelting to the security personnel. The security forces had to accept damage due to unruly mob.

In this context, Gen. Bipin Rawat, COAS, on last Wednesday said that those Kashmiris supporting terrorists would be considered anti-national. General Rawat stated: "People who have picked up arms, the local boys, if they want to continue with such acts of terrorism and display flags of ISIS and Pakistan, then we will treat them as anti-national elements and go helter-skelter for them. Our relentless operations will continue".

I hope the so-called liberal intelligentsia of India has also listened to the stern warning of General Rawat.

Yes this is the high time India draw a proper and stern rule against those who are abetting terrorism and raising their supporting slogans. It is the fact that Pakistani sympathizers are there in Kashmir and they constantly engaged in trouble making and thus causing undue damage to the peace process. Chief of the Army Staff Bipin Rawat has the supreme power to take immediate decision on Desh drohis and thus those who are against the armed forces and supporting terrorists should not be spared and action be taken. Good that this warning would set right the things in peace.

Along with the Kashmiri separatists, Army must now take action against those liberals who sympathises with these separatists and terrorists sitting in tv studios and universities. They must be dealt with without any mercy.

As I expected, the statement of COAS has created a lot of controversy. A simple statement which is logical and reflective of the pain of the top officer when he witnesses the deadbody of his juniors and subordinates, has been condemned by spineless 'libu's.

Partha, have you been in a situation where the lady of the home blocks the entry of an armed personal? Quite nice that you have tried to be on the backstage. The statement by the COAS is actually unwarranted; he need to understand Kashmiris for that matter! He cannot be politically inclined!

Mr. Saji Ganesh: I am not astonished by your comments. It is expected of you. I would request you not to make any further comments in this thread.

"He cannot be politically inclined!"-How do you know that Gen. Rawat is politically inclined?

I worked in J&K. Don't want to give details in this platform.

Armed forces work under lot of limitations and self restraint in Kashmir. Due to that they suffer more casualties than supposed to. It is the political instructions that force the army and other law enforcing personnel to keep utmost restraint causing harm to themselves. It is their earnest aim not to cause casualties to innocent, law abiding, peace loving citizen. But there is a tolerance level to anything. In being magnanimously lenient to the civilians, armed forces are taken as weak and ill motivated. Enough is enough.
With the present open warning no one can blame the armed forces if third parties are caught in between the actions to neutralise the terrorists.
It is a warning to real innocent people to keep off the terrorists and not to help them. Let them be aware that those who trespass the warning suffer the consequences and armed forces should not be blamed. Leniency is misunderstood as weakness. It is better late The corrective action in the open warning is welcome. Terrorists and criminals can understand only the language o force.

Yesterday Yasin Malik stated that stone-pelting was part of non-violent movement for Kashmiris. If stone-pelting is non-violent movement, then pellets by J&K police & para-military forces and bullets by Army are return gifts to them.

I fail to understand how throwing a stone at anybody can be non-violent! Security forces, no matter what type of uniform they are wearing, are there for a reason, the primary one being to ensure, well, security for the citizens who stay in the area and ensure that miscreants don't have their way. The security forces will put up barricades and be armed to give physical indicators of how the miscreants can be dealt with when required but it is often necessary to express clearly in words what won't be tolerated. Innocent civilians who are not really a party to violent actions or are not supporting anti-nationals needlessly get caught in the middle. This is what those who are helping terrorists sadly just don't seem to care about.
Keep smiling...one day life will get tired of upsetting you.

"If stone-pelting is non-violent movement, then pellets by J&K police & para-military forces and bullets by Army are return gifts to them."- I loved the response. Partha. You hit the nail on its head prompt.

Ms. Vandana: Your response proves that you don't have information about the present ground reality in Kashmir. Nowadays militants throw paltry Rs. 10 to Rs.100 before the local poors and ask them to work as a shield between security forces and themselves. These people do this in the name of religion and for money. The militants attack and flee because Indian Army doesn't want to fire on civilians. Hurriyat leaders send their chilren in foreign countries and to the best eucational institutions of India, trainee militants burn the schools creating more darkness for their own future and arm-chair 'libu's give lecture to Indian Army before TV channels. If Indian Army suffers own losses to save civilians, they are lectured. If stone-pelting civilians get killed during an operation, they are lectured.
