An Indian bride prefers to vote first and move to her husband's house next!

A news item attracted me. It shows the enthusiasm of the Indian voters today. It is a positive sign for our Indian democracy. Earlier people used to show their lack of enthusiasm in voting and their mood to accept anyone and not bothered to verify their credentials. Now trend has changed. The voting pattern and higher recording of voting percentage indicates that our voters are slowly exercising their mighty to kick off those unwanted stuff from political arena.

Here is a bride by name Manisha showing a unique determination for voting ignored all the traditional formalities to leave for her husband's house first after marriage. Rather she preferred to cast her vote in the UP assembly election today morning in Lucknow. She said her in-laws have endorsed here view point and thanks to the Election Commission in its efforts to make the voters to be aware of their voting rights!

This is positive sign that voters are now realizing the important of their right to chose the right candidate during elections. We know polls comes once in five years and on the voting day even holiday is declared to facilitate to cast the vote. Good that Manisha has voted and then chosen to leave for the Sasural house. The Election Commission might have been happy with this news. She stood as the example now and the rich man who are sitting at the home during elections and enjoying the holiday must realize their vote importance and they should also cast their votes.

It is nothing but a coincidence that the marriage and election was fixed on the same date unknowingly. The marriage date must have been fixed well before the election date. The bride made use of the opportunity to have some publicity. Now Manisha's name is famous in her city/town/village. Anyway, I appreciate the spirit of the bride who wished to exercise her franchise before leaving for her hubbies home. I think Manisha must be a well educated girl who understands the world, society and politics well.

Though it is a coincidental, it is a mix of awareness of the society and encouragement from the beloved ones to agree her wish to cast her vote. The value of the VOTE in a democratic country like us cannot be measured as even a single vote can decide the fate of the country. We have seen in the past the value of the one vote. Much awareness is created with the untiring efforts of the Election Commission. Even today with this act of Manisha, society can be much inspired in spreading the value of the Vote, responsibility of the individual.

Sun and Geekay even though the date of the marriage may be coincidental with the date of polling, who would think of leaving the Marriage celebrations and think of politics. The girl has really thought in different way and everyone should admire that.
