India's tallest flag post at Attari border

India's tallest flag post has been inaugurated at the Indo-Pak Attari border on last Sunday. The post is so high that it (along with the flag) can be seen from Lahore. Punjab Minister Anil Joshi inaugurated the country's largest tricolour on the tallest flag post - measuring 110 metres in length, 24 metres in width and 55 tons in weight. The cost has been around Rs. 3.50 crore has been borne by the Punjab government. The flag post will definitely become an attraction for thousands of tourists in India as well as from Pakistan.

However, Pakistani authorities are not very happy with the flag. They are afraid that India could use this flag post for spying. Pakistanis have conveyed their objection to the Border Security Force authorities during a flag meeting. But who cares about their objection? The flag post is well inside Indian territorry.

I went to Amritsar last November. I have to visit the city and the border-post again.

Good that India's pride and our National flag could be seen tall at the Attari border, thanks to the efforts of armed forces there. Now a days in every Military area, the authorities are erecting tall flag posts with big Indian flag so that every one can pay respect to our country and have the feeling of saluting at the base. In Hyderabad too we have very tall flat post over looking Hussain Sagar and that has now become Love Hyderabad selfie spot with the back drop of flag post on the far. Even in Cantonment area there is big flag post on the way to Nagadevatha Temple. So flag posts of taller order is the happening at every state.
