Central government fullfilling the promises made in UP elections for farmers

In the recent UP elections BJP party made attractive promises for farmers for debt relief. After winning the elections, central government is saying that it is going to fulfill the promises made by BJP party on behalf of State government. This is the first time in the country that the Central government paying debt relief for farmers on behalf of State government. Opposition party leaders asking is Mr. Modi the PM of UP or CM of Up? For A.P. during partition time Congress government and BJP leaders promised to give Special category status to the State on the floor of Parliament. Even Mr.Modi reiterated this promis in every election meeting and even in the Lords abode Tirupati. After the election by saying cock and bull stories BJP party avoided special category status to A.P. But now evading all norms, Central government is fulfilling election promises made on behalf state government. What are your comments folks on Mr.Modi's way functioning?

For PM Up is the special state as he was elected from that state. The BJP came back to power in that state after 14 years of struggling and now PM Modi does not want hatred among the voters. The debt relief of the farmers has been the agenda of every political party which went to polls and thus directly or Indirectly this subject would be dealt by Union government only. So by taking care of debt relief by the central government itself a new precedent has been followed by BJP. And as regards to special category to AP, the Union government in fact want to help the new state much than wanted and thus through special package it wants to develop AP as the number one state in this country. Many projects are lined up and even the state CM Chandrababu Naidu is attracting all investments from abroad.

Previously when TS & AP governments have made similar promises for farmers and asked for Mr. Modi's assistance he denied that the promises made by State government do not come under the perview of Center. He even denied Central government to assist in rescheduling of loans for AP & TS farmers by the banks. In this way he is showing partiality towards BJP ruled States and non- BJP ruled State s. With regard to Special category status, package is a kind of attractive calculation shown on paper and every citizen of AP hurt by the decision taken by center to deny Special status for AP.

The author must know that who ever fought in the UP elections, the waiver farmer loans were the main agenda and even when Akhilesh Yadav gave his farewell media speech, he requested the PM to honor the commitment of waiving the farmer loans and that is why PM has to take this step. And what you said is right. The plight of farmers is the same condition whether he belongs to any state and Central government must create a thrift fund so that any state facing the drought situation can immediately get assistance from the fund to mitigate the problems of Annadaata.

If at all the center decide to waive loans availed by farmers, it must be applied across the country and not according to political whims and fancies. The BJP is yet to form a government in UP and if at all there was a poll promise to this effect, it should be taken up by the state government and it would be for them to request the center to bear the burden. The center can take a decision then; why this hurry? Is the signal that Democracy is in the process of being sacrificed for clearing the way to Modicracy becoming brighter? Keep increasing the majority of BJP and see what all will be done!

Mr Mohan, Sri Modi might have been elected to the Lok Sabha from Varanasi in UP but that does not mean that he can give special privileges to the state; he is the Prime Minister of India and is responsible to the citizens of India.
