Those who are languishing in jail for crimes, they cannot fight elections for life.

In a far reaching order pronounced by the Supreme Court, those who are convicted, spending life in jail for stipulated time and those who are having cases pending against them in court of laws on various crimes are not eligible to stand for elections in future. That means once convicted, they loose the chance to stand in election again. This is very good news for the voters as often we see high crime data holders are standing in elections and getting won with money and muscle power. Now the end would come for this menace..

The law should be framed well. Anyone who is a criminal who have been proved guilty, and whose criminal case is pending in the courts should not be permitted to contest elections during their life time. This should be enforced strictly and monitored.

If it is true, it is a historical judgement. I am surprised that for past so many years, why such ordered could not be passed. One more question runs in my mind as what about those who are elected already with having criminal records?
