Never even waste one glass of water. You may have to reach 1000 feet deep to get the same

Come summer the water woes are increasing and in big cities it has become the regular habit for the citizens to go for canned water to augment the shortage of corporation water. Such is the crisis now that even wasting one glass of water seems to be bothering and costly. Before we throw away one glass of water or waste the water for some other purpose we must remember that to get the same amount of one glass of water we have to go deep down 1000 feet at least inside the earth. So next time when you waste water think of this.

Please do not exaggerate the depth to 1000 feet and fear the people with one glass of water. There are many places where ground water is available which can be purified by aqua guard and drunk. Else, India is surrounded by the large seas and the sea water can be converted into pure drinking water and consumed. Where there is a will, there is always a way. We are already habituated of drinking mineral water available in cans. Anyway, it is better not to waste water.

Wasting water is not a good practice. Wasting any item is really a bad habit. We will understand the value of it, when it is not available.
When you are travelling in a ship. If drinking water you have carried is over, you will know the value of water at that time. Come on to the deck of the ship. Look around. "water, water every where, no single drop of water to Drink".

Mr. Mohan presented the topic a little exaggerated. But in summer many places water shortage will come. So we should use water as per the minimum need only.

Recently I read some where that scientists found a method to convert sea water to drinking water. That will be fantastic.

It is always advisable not to waste water.

We are lucky enough, we have sufficient water to use. Many places in our countries have scarcity of water.People have n't sufficient water for their daily needs. So water should n,t be wasted.due to over population big cities are also facing the problem of water scarcity.I have read in desert ice are sent to get water.Although we are trying hard to get drinkable water from sea.But it all needs extra resources ,So it will be good to save water.

I do not think India has mastered the technique to convert seawater into potable/drinkable water.
When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new!

In my area the ground water level has gone down beyond 1000 feet and earlier we used to get water at 300 feet itself and hence my observation based on personal experience.

In my area, we even get ground water at 30 feet to meet the purpose. Though the monsoon has failed this year, we are not having serious shortage of water. This is high time for our government to think of merging the rivers of India and make it flow from North to South to see an ever green India.

Sun probably your home may be in the catchment area of sea or river bed. But we do not have natural sources and Hyderabad Deccan is the rocky area. So heavily depend on rain water and its seepage into ground.

Andhra Pradesh is gifted with many rivers like Krishna and Godavari.(90 percent of water from these rivers are reaching the sea without being stored for the need. Government should look into it and make arrangement for storage of water for supply to the whole Andhra Pradesh. God has been kind to us in providing sufficient water to us. But we human don't understand it.

Somewhere I read that third world war will be for water. That could be an exaggeration but the underlying message is very clear and apparently much more fearful than that of mentioned in the opening thread of Mohan's post.

There is absolutely no doubt that it is the most precious commodity on earth and with increasing populations and enhanced requirements of this natural cleaner, quencher and solvent, the situation is not going to be comfortable.

In nature groundwaters were replenished with absorption and percolation of rain waters in porous and permeable earth stratas and it remained at a comfortable level for a long time. With time the increased exploitation of groundwater lowered this level to alarming depths.

A great part of rain water is going to seas and immediately changes from fresh water to saline water as huge sea reservoir engulfs it in its lap. This is unfortunate but true. Getting potable water from sea water is again a costly method called reverse osmosis.

Anyway by retaining the water in big reservoirs is one way to store for the yearly needs and prevent water to reach seas.

Under such a scenario even a cup of water saved matters and by doing so we are not only saving this precious commodity but helping the fellow beings also.

    Knowledge is power.

Water is the most vital source of life on earth. While considering the entire water body on earth, we have only 97.5% sea-water, 2.5% as fresh water and 3% of water for human use. Most of the fresh waters are locked in glaciers and icecaps.

Well, consuming water daily can help you solve many of your health related problems like:

    1. It protects your heart and could contribute in preventing heart attacks.

    2. It boosts the brain as water provides much-needed oxygen to perform at optimum levels.

    3. It saves your money if you avoid drinking beverages and consume water alternatively since it is very cheap.

    4. It can increase your metabolism and helps to burn your body fat and hence you loose weight.

    5. Drinking water daily will keep you alert and active during the day by keeping away dehydration which causes fatigue.
