Check off list for examinations and interviews

This is an important advisory for anyone appearing in an examination or an interview. Follow this advice and you'll not be late for the appointment.

    1. Check the date, time and venue of the exam/venue to ensure you do not mix up dates, time and venue
    2. Check the instructions printed on the hall ticket or interview letter, they are important. They could advise you on the do's and don'ts. For instance, you may be required to arrive half an hour before the schedule, for registration
    3. Check the venue in advance, so no time is wasted searching for streets and lanes on the crucial day
    4. Check the fastest, safest and easiest route to avoid diversions or traffic jams etcetera and arriving late on the day of the event
    5. Check your mode of transport. If someone is dropping you to the destination make sure their vehicle is fuelled up
    6. Check schedules and routes of public transport if you are going to be using one. Cater for the time spent reaching the bus stand/station from your place of stay and from where you get off to your destination
    7. Always have a Plan B – what if you miss the bus or the vehicle won't start. Carry extra money to catch an auto/cab or have a neighbour/friend drop you
    8. Plan to arrive at the venue at least half an hour before time, so there is no panic, you also get time to relax and gather your thoughts

A very useful and good check list. Always fall back arrangement should also be planned. Many of the points are mentioned. Some of my suggestions given below.
If you are going for a off line examination, please see what tool you require for answering the questions. In some examination they advise you to use ball point pen. In some exams you have to use ink pen and in some exams they advise pencil. Basing on the requirement take at least two numbers of required variety. You may have to carry a eraser if pencil is recommended.
If you are going for an interview please see that all certificates required are with you and carry them. A set of xerox copies of certificates are also better to carry.Carry one or two passport size photographs and a copy of cv with you. Dress well so that the members of the interview board will be happy. Go with shoes always.

All the above are good. It will also be prudent to call up and confirm all that is necessary and required. Nowadays almost all test centers or prospective employers do provide online and telephonic support.

Very useful information and tips shared by the author. Only in recent days I found college girls coming late to the NEET 2017 exam center and then realizing the mistake that they came to wrong venue. Some candidates forgot to affix the photo on the admit card to be given inside the exam hall. Some candidate failed to bring identification or proof like aadhar card. I would blame the parents also for the laxity to know all the rules and regulations before the exam starts and help the student accordingly. It is better to check up everything one day before and make sure everything is in order.
