Fluctuations in Total Points

I have been noticing fluctuations in the total points. Some time it shows 157 and later it shows 130 and some time later it is showing 135

Can someone explain this phenomenon?

When your posts are rejected by an editor, the points reduce. But it will never go up unless some editor increase the points for any of your posts.
