- #600528There are so many people out there which I can see today I still working as child labor. But as you mentioned, increasing population in India and further to it the below poverty line families suffering from poverty are really required to have their whole family working for their daily life.
However, there are many schools which offer education for free, but then there exists no one to join in the same. This is indeed a big problem in India wherein the poverty, however, should be addressed in better way so to eradicate child labor.
Thanks & Regards
- #600542The government is very serious on employing child labour. That is why many establishments stopped employing them. But still in Unorganised sector there may be some child labour. We see many children on roads begging. Actually they are also child labor. Some groups hire them on daily wages and post them at different posts. In the evening they collect the money from the children and give daily wages The parents should not allow this practice. Because of their poverty they allow. The schemes and other facilities that are being introduced by government will not go to them.
Many ladies work in the houses as servant maids. Their daughters also accompany them and they also get into that profession. These are unnoticed by officials. The change has to take place within the families of poor.
- #600544Child labour is a common sight in populated and developing countries. Unfortunately our country is one among them.
There is such a large number of these children that it seems there is no remedy. They are from poor families, they are orphans wandering here and there and some of them have left their poor families elsewhere and passing their miserable life in pavements or hotel kitchens.
Though orphanage homes are opened by Govt but there number is insignificant as compared to the number of orphans engaged here and there.
How to give shelter and education to these children and remove them from the exploitation is a challenge which many Govts are facing and struggling to find practical solutions.
Knowledge is power.
