    Former chairman of ISRO Passes away

    Udupi Ramachandra Rao, is known as U. R. Rao. He was a space scientist and former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation. Presently he was the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Physical Research Laboratory at Ahmedabad and Nehru Planetarium at Bengaluru and chancellor of Indian Institute for Space Science and Technology (IIST) at Thiruvananthapuram. He has bagged many notable awards. But this morning at 2.00 clock he had a massive heart attack and expired. The entire world is paying condolence to his death. Let HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

    Its really bad news today. God give him SOUL REST IN PEACE. I was attached with ISRO for 4 years so I know it very well that its big loss for ISRO.

    Really sad to note that former ISRO Chairman Udupi Ramachandra Rao, or affectionately called as U. R. Rao is no more. India really lost the big soul which was instrumental in developing ISRO to this stature. May his soul rest in peace.

    Prof.U.R.Rao was the first generation scientist in ISRO. He worked for his Ph.D under Dr.Vikram Sarabhai. The first satellite of India Aryabhatta was his brain child only. A very famous astrophysicist, Dr.Rao was responsible for sowing seeds during his regime for all this Chandrayan and mangalyaan. GSLV and PSLV etc. He received Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards for his works from government of India. Born in a normal agricultural family in Karnataka has gone to Sky level with his technological, managerial and positive skills.
    Prof. Rao a man of actions is the main pillar in the growth of SHAR center in A P. His death is a big loss to India in general and ISRO in particular. May his soul rest in peace,
