• # Success and failure are more or less resembles a sine curve in a graph.

• I distinctly remember that the author raised same thread some months ago.

There may be some Members of ISC who don't know the trigonometric ratios like sine, cosine, tangent, co-tangent, secant and co-secant. The authormay first explain these ratios. Then he should explain the curve of each ratio. Only then he should compare life with sine curve.

But why shouldn't we compare life with cosecant curve?

Non-violence is the greatest Dharma; So too is all righteous violence.

• #607346 As I compare to Ups i.e. crest and compare to downs as Trough, In general, in any person life will have success and failures.Majority of the people have a combination of success and failures. For example, you consider the famous politician Jayalalitha former chief minister won in one election she failed in another election.
A blunt knife or rusted knife can't be useful for anything just for the sake we call it as the knife similar to PayTM series or Sachin or Virat records.

• It is a fact that every person will have ups and downs in his life. They will have happy times and unhappy times. They will have good times and bad times. This is true for anybody. But how we take these times and how we face it is more important. Once you have a slip , you should not get disturbed and should not give away. You should further try and see that you will be successful.
Life is never a straight line graph it is a always a graph of curves only.

• That may be in our schooling or college we studied the parabola etc., in the graphical notations. But earlier childhood we played snake and ladder that itself to denote the life should have ups and downs. If the life is like a straight line, the interest will be very less and with the expectation of anything or something only we can live peacefully.

• Beautiful, Mr. Pattabiraman. Life can very well be described as a game of snake and ladder.
Non-violence is the greatest Dharma; So too is all righteous violence.

• There is a Sanskrit say 'Yath bhavam that bhavathi' meaning How you feel it will be like that.

• I really appreciate the author by comparing ups and downs to sine curve and my perception to this along with author is,: we may directly take it mathematically but the words itself relates to our myth that our life will have downs according to our sin(e) and hence sine curve is surely applicable to it. As there are other curves too in trignometry but this is exactly tally with the sin(e) curve. But all the time it may not be full up and full down as in sine curve, there are some stagnant period too either in up or in down.
Nice to be in ISC and feel the difference.

• The author has just given a comparison between the vissisitudes of life with that of a sine curve and it does not mean that ups and downs are so rythmic or periodic.

On a general note it is correct to say that yes life has it's ups and downs and we do not know when what will happen.

Life is a journey in which we will have hardships as well as good times and our aim should be to try to tread ahead with hard work and determination. Those who simply try and do not bother or worry for the results are the real warriors.
