Medieval superstition: Journey from Pakistan to KeralaAn on-duty nurse was attacked during a vaccination drive in Kerala's Malappuram district. The gang of criminals brutally twisted the arm of the nurse named Shyamala B and other health workers were also brutally assaulted. The attackers came with knives, rods and other sharp-edged weapons and attacked the vaccination drive against measles and rubella, which was being conducted at a school in Edavoor on lastThursday. The criminals attacked the health workers and smashed Ms Shyamala's cellphone. The unfortunate nurse has been admitted in a hospital in Kuttipuram. The police have arrested only three criminals from a 'particular community'.
It is really very worrying that this type of medieval superstition that vaccination would reduce the fertility of women and virility of men, has entered from Pakistan to India and some people of the most educated state of the country are believing this trash.
