A small discussion on Indian cricket team's next visit to South Africa

Indian cricket team has now been playing with Srilanka. Immediately after this home series in both Test and ODI, the team would visit South Africa. South African tour is always very tough and Indian team won't get any rest before the overseas tour. So, it is a matter of concern for the team. Let's discuss India's batting and bowling options for the oncoming tour.

Let's consider batting batting first. Virat Kohli is showing sublime tourch. He has been playing one after another great inning. But there is possibility that Law of Averages would catch him in South Africa. Then what would be India's option? Cheteshwar Pujara has to play a lead role in India's batting at South Africa. While he is technically competent, but is pronoe to injuries. Ajinkya Rahane is going through a terrible phase. Sikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are too unpredictable to depend upon. Another unsung hero of the team, Murli Vijay, will be watched very closely. Wriddhiman Saha, Ashwin and Jadeja are also improving as lower-order batsmen, but it would be much to expect to be fulcrums of the batting.

So far as bowling is concerned, India's two main bowling weapons, Ashwin and Jadeja, will have to improvise a lot to produce brilliant performance in South African wickets. Shami and Ishant Sharma are bowling well nowadays, but they are also prone to injuries. Bhubaneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav will be watched during this tour.

We, the supporters of Indian team, expect stellar performance from all players of the team during this overseas tour.

Well keeping in mind the previous performances and the record the South Africans hold in batting , bowling and fielding, our boys should be careful and play good cricket. One should not take chance with South Africans players as they are capable of turning the game to their favour. Nevertheless our best wishes are always with the Indian team and hope every one contributes for every victory in the game. What I suggest that if one fails with the bowling they should cope up with batting and vice versa. Then the team can expect superlative score against Proteus and thus create history again.

India will lose 3-0 in Tests, in 6 One day matches 5-1 or 4-2 and T-20's 2-0. Virat one or two centuries in the series.Pujara will get higesht runs among Indian batters. As usual, bowling will be made villain especially spin department Ashwin and Jadeja.remember this response it will definitely happen. And now the test match in Kotla is going Ashwin (bowling) and Virat(batting) will win this match.

Oh! Great fortune-teller! The discussion in this thread is about the performance of the batsmen and bowlers. The discussion is on which player(s) Indian team should depend during the oncoming tour.

Oh! Great fortune-teller! You are so great!

The team is much depending on the Captain. We can't expect always from the same player. Pujara is doing a good job but we have to observe him on foreign pitches. These days Rahane is failing too much.Dhawan and Rohit are not very consistent. At least two or three batsmen should come good in each match. Then only our bowlers can defend. Our strength is in our batting. We don't know whether the pitches will help our spinners we don't know. As such the medium pacers should deliver good. The present bowlers are doing good within their limits. Some or other is making the batsmen suffer. Fielding also good. The outcome the series will much be dependent on how our batsmen face their bowlers.

Bhushan I do agree that India is going to play against a strong team and there are going to be anxious moments but that does not warrant total or disastrous series as opined by you.

Bhushan-ji is now training his gun on Virat Kohli and Aswin. Earlier his target was different. In another year, he will again shift his target.

Kohli has been rested for the three ODI started from December 10th.Rohit Sharma is named the captain of the ODIs.Hardik Panday has been brought into the one-day series. Ashwin and Jadeja are also being rested. Rahane has found a place in the ODIs, hopefully, he can use this opportunity to lift his game up. Certainly, the Indian team's depth in batting, bowling, and fielding would be tested by the South Africans. Currently, South Africa is second in the ICC rankings and we are No:1 and it would be tough defending it. We need 2-3 stellar performances in turns consistently from Kohli, Rhanae, Pujara, Murali Vijay with Dhawan and Sharma showing their mettle in the batting front in each match. Ishant, Yadav, Ashwin, and Jadeja would do a good job at bowling as the work horses. Hope for the best, at least a close fight.

Indias No.1 raking is fabricated one they never won a Test match in Australia in Australia, never won a Test match in New Zealand in New Zealand, Never won in South Arica in South Africa, Pakistan (They will not tour). They won against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, West Indies in West Indies, Surely a disastrous series ahead no doubt about it.

Everyone, including the author of this thread, is being given a gentle reminder that ISC is not KBC! .

The series against South Africa no doubt will be a tough one. Like for any series, naturally the cricket fans are hoping for great performances from the men in blue - and definitely wins! Just came to know that Jasprit Bumrah has been included in the Test squad. This will be the first time he will be donning the Test cap for his country. Perhaps his quirky bowling action can flummox Amla and Plessis, who I feel are the two most dangerous batsmen in the opponents' squad.

#618134@Bhushan, you are so insistent that India cricket wins are a hoax. We may lose some matches, at least as fans we can be positive, I don't mind losing if the margin is very narrow and it's a well fought game rather than a meek surrender. Let's see how our team performs.

Hasn't India ever won a Test match in Australia, New Zealand, |South Africa and in Pakistan? Is it so? Is this a testimony to the fact that the author has been following cricket since the time Sunil Gavaskar? Does Pakistan play Test match in its home soil nowadays?

    Disgusting!

Rankings are done by the International Cricket Council (ICC), isn't it, and based on overall wins/losses, whether on home soil or away? How, then, can the rankings be "fabricated"? Rankings are not created out of thin air or on false statistics or even fake matches!

#618140 Pakistan is not playing in Pakistan even a kid knows no need to enlighten on that again. Pakistan series means they will play in Dubai(They considered as Home series).

All are managed by BCCI Pakistan leveled a Test Series in England before they crowned as NO.1 Test Side. Thereafter Kohli and BCCI are playing dirty games by touring weak teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies and got the Test No.1 ranking.

As Indians will be beaten black and blue(men in blue) in South African series no doubt about it. ICC rankings are fake there is no reality in it.Every cricket commentator will tell it. Even Sanjay Manjrekar(the Mumbaikar) had already told Kohli fearing to face the strongest team on their home soil.

Burmah will become a boomerang for India.
Don't call now Manjrekar is a kid now.....
