After Yoga, now UN also recognise Kumbh Mela as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity !

It is really a pride moment for every Indian that UN has recognised the famous Kumbh Mela, the religious congregation which is held every 12 years in North India as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and thus included in that list. We all know that earlier UN has recognised Yoga and Parsi New year Navroz in their list. This proves that if the leadership in the country has the good relations and has the say in UN, many things can be recognised and be known to the world. Let us appreciate the NDA government for taking our cultures to International heights and Kudos to every one.

It is really good to note that the famous Kumbh Mela, the religious congregation which will be held once in every 12 years in North India as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and this event also included in that list. It is really a happy moment that our cultural events are getting world recognition. After Modi became the Prime Minister of India, Yoga has been recognised by many countries and the world understood the importance of yoga in the day to day affairs of a human being. This is the 3rd point which is added to the list after NDA has become the ruling party in our country. I think with this action we may expect many foreigners to tour India during the Kumbh Mela days which will be an encouragement to the tourism department of our country. The country will become more popular with this kind of events in the country. Good to note.

Kumbh Mela is billed as the one among the biggest event related to religion in the world. The event once in 12 years captures the tradition and certainly deserves to be known around the world. Pleased to see that Kumbh Mela is listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list by UN. It is a recognition of the unique traditions of India. This is the third in two years which is great for the country and the government. As Yoga has been well received around the world, the history and events at Kumbh Mela would also be interesting to visitors around the world. It has the potential to attract visitors. If we can ensure safety and decent stay experience for the Indian and foreign travellers, it would certainly boost up the tourism economy.
I hope the future events are better planned than the last Kumbh Mela, there have been reports of gross financial mismanagement of the last mela (allegedly only 1% of the funds released for the mela was actually spent). The railway tragedy at Allahabad exposed the lack of disaster planning.

It is really a happy news to hear that Kumbh Mela is recognized as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by United Nations. It is a mela where so many pilgrims go to pray and bathe in the sacred river. But it is being heard, that there is such heavy crowd that children are lost many times if care is not taken. It is also called as "Maha Kumbh" because of the crowd over there.
    Do what inspires you !!
