This statement will seem odd for those of us who are owning a bike/car.
But on the other hand I heard the below:
From my Collegue who was coming to office by his bike:
“I’m now using MTC buses to come to office bcas, It’s not affordable to use my bike after this hike”
From my family friend who is a Sales Executive for cars:
“The sales downed after this hike”
This implies that people have reduced the comsumption of Petrol and hence reluctant in using Cars/ Bikes.
Hence, It’s time for the Green promoters to thank the govt., becas this obviously reduced the emmisions and hence the pollution.
Note: I know this is not the Optimitstic view to see this issue. But all that is happening is for good!! :)

Dear Varun and Vijaya,

the Inflation rise is due to the rise of oil and other heavily traded materilas in the world market , Hope the india will retain to a neutral base soon.

YOu know what, one should always look for positive side even if he or she is in the worst situation..
Price hike is obiviously making hole in pur pockets.. but we have to live in that.. if there is no other option.. live with joy..

varun ,
this is a very one sided view of the fuel price hike. People like your friend who has shifted to public transport systems such as the bus are far and few between. Car sales are in fact in the rise due to most companies slashing prices.
The green brigade has nothin to cheer about since the Government has done absolutely nothin to provide subsidies to the makers of hybrid or electric vehicles. Till that is done or some steps taken towards that, I don see any reason to cheer about the hike.
