The Pangti Story : Power of change.

In the Doyang reservoir, Nagaland, thousands of Amur Falcons were killed by natives in 2012. After a huge outcry and criticism, at Pangti village a conservation project was started, a couple of years later no Amur Falcons were killed.

This change in Pangti village, Wokha district, Nagaland has been applauded by many. The village won the Royal Bank of Scotland, Earth Heroes Award, 2014. National geography listed Nagaland land among the 10 top birding destinations in the world.

A film (The Pangti story) by Sesino Yhoshu which is just 26 minutes long has won the Golden Beaver award at 7th National science film festival in 2017 and Best environmental film at the 65th National film awards.

The people of the entire area who were predators killing 15,000 birds transformed into passionate protectors of these Amur Falcons saving every one of them. What a change. Congratulations to the people involved in this change and the movie makers for highlighting the power of change.

When people are educated in right away about the importance conserving nature and protecting birds even once bad society can be changed and transformed to a new one.

A remarkable change in the attitude of the villagers. The difference might have come because of the conservative project. The people involved in the project might have educated the villagers and brought that appreciable change in them. So the credit goes the project people and we should congratulate them for bringing this remarkable change in the villagers which has yielded them a lot of recognition and awards.
