Hello editor! I have found a very funny thing here So far as my knowledge goes,a "slogan" is a phrase or a cry and infact a birthday slogan should be atleast one or two sentences and the very funny thing is,the winning slogan for ISC is 35 lines poem!!
According to www.answers.com,a slogan is- A phrase expressing the aims or nature of an enterprise, organization, or candidate; a motto. A phrase used repeatedly, as in advertising or promotion
According to www.en.wikipedia.org ,a slogan is- A slogan is a memorable motto or phrase used in a political, commercial, religious and other context as a repetitive expression of an idea or purpose
According to www.merriam-webster.com , a slogan is- 1 a: a war cry especially of a Scottish clan b: a word or phrase used to express a characteristic position or stand or a goal to be achieved 2: a brief attention-getting phrase used in advertising or promotion
Dear editor, please specify the limitations of the post for the contests like, if slogan- 2 sentences or if poem -20 lines and so on.If the winner of the birthday slogan contest submits the same "winning slogan" in poetry contest, then i am sure he will win again!!
kindly consider these opinions and clarify. Thankyou!!!

hi swetha I strongly agree with you in this matter.
slogan must be
1) Short, memorable advertising phrase
2)A catch phrase or small group of words that are combined in a special way to identify a product or company.
3)Phrase used to advertise a product, or to identify a company or organization.
4)noun a phrase identified with a firm. A motto used in selling an enterprise or company.
5)The brief sentence incorporated in modern machine postmarks/cancellations, such as 'Post Early for Xmas'. Slogan cancel
6)In advertising, a Slogan should be simple, repetative and have one-selling idea. (Think of Beanz, Meanz, Heinz.) Slogans also often mention the product name and identify its unique selling point. (USP)
7)A distinctive phrase of a person or group of people; A phrase associated with a product, used in advertising

Very good literature search by Swetha.I do agree with you. 1)Slogan should be short & sweet so that people can remember it easily. No one can remember 20 lines poem Look at this - 1)"Idea" mobile company says-'An idea can change your life ". Short & sweet. We can remember it & can tell it to anybody without much efforts. 2)Bajaj -"Buland bharat ki buland tasbeer" 3)Hero honda - about mileage " Fill it , forget it"
