Changes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency

What are the changes and development undergone in Varanasi in the last four year of the Modi Government? Did Narendra Modi fulfill all the promises made to the local people of Varanasi? Are the local people of Varanasi happy with Prime Minister?

The major changes he has envisaged was the cleaning of Ganges river, total rebuilding of old structures, widening of roads, development of parks etc. Only yesterday I came across the full lighting structure of Varanasi main arch entrance which was very colorful. PM also promised good living conditions of the people who are living at the ghats without proper homes. I think all will be done systematically and needs time as this place is frequented by the pilgrims and the devotees and thus hinders the development work in faster phase,

A major drive under Swachh Bharat Mission is going in a big way in Varanasi and showing results. Now wi-fi connectivity along the major ghats is a reality. A special partnership agreement with Japanese city of Kyoto will help Varanasi demonstrate the diversity and depth of Indo-Japan relationship and its human dimension. A major emphasis on job creation in the region is given with the help of Indian Railways and by reviving the textile and powerloom industry is in its implementation stage.
All efforts are to make this city a world heritage and people from this constituency are very happy with the development work carried out and the works which are in progress.

The Minister of State for Tourism Mr. K.J. Alphons was in the holy city of Varanasi on 05-06-2018 on a two-day visit. While speaking to media he commented that "The roads here are extremely congested which results in a traffic jam. The city is also filthy and a lot of cleanliness work is required. For cleaning Ganga three sewage plants have been installed," Mr. Alphons also expressed his concerns over people disposing of milk and petals in the river Ganges while offering prayers at the ghats. The Minister further expressed his unhappiness over dirt piling up in the river Ganga. This statement by the Tourism Minister contradicts the government's claims of successfully implementing 'Clean Ganga Mission' one of the dream projects of PM Modi from his parliamentary constituency. This is the impression the Minister has expressed a few days back.

@KVRR it is the fact that Varanasi is the ancient walled city and we cannot expect roads to be wide and even. The structures are dating back to many years and any demolition for the purpose of road widening tantamount to disturbing archaeology importance of the great religious city. And regarding those pouring milk and rose petals in the river is the part of rituals to which the place is famous. Those who died would be given the befitting farewell and thus one cannot stop the sentiment. The milk would dilute in the flowing gangies and so are the rose petals, which are not the major issues.

Mr. Mohan, you are contradicting yourself. Four years elapsed since Mr. Modi was elected from Varanasi.
