How do you appropriate your day?

Every day we have to do some works including the routine ones. The time in a day is limited to only 24 hours and we have to complete many task in that only as there are other things lined up for the next day.

For those who are working, the general break up is approximately something like this -
Sleeping - 8 hours, Personal and household works - 2 hours, Office or workplace - 7 hours, Commuting - 1-1/2 hour, Hobbies - 1-1/2 hours, Taking food and relaxing - 1-1/2 hours, Walking and exercise - 1 hour, Social meetings or socialising - 1-1/2 hours.

For those who are retired and not reemployed the office and commuting time will be shared by other activities of leisure, socialising and entertainment or pursuing hobbies.

Do you have such appropriation of time in your daily life or you have a different schedule? Can you give your schedule or give comment on this generalised one?

Giving time for everyone and every work should be our priority and it may not be the same with every one. I give two hours time for the ISC daily and for the family morning up to 8 am and evenings after 7 pm. Normally I wont go out after reaching home and the whole Sunday would be dedicated to the family. And if any functions has to be attended, the children would go by taxi or bus and we both go by scooter. But some times I feel that we are not giving enough time to the friends who need us the most , like wise we are not giving time to the close relatives, pretending to be busy.

I don't have any appropriate routine. It's just random for daily wage earners. I am just a casual laborer. My day start with cooking and I have to be up before 6:00 AM. My sister has to leave for her school at sharp 7:30 AM. I have to leave for the construction site at 7:00 AM and work for 8 Hours. From 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, I am not free. This is my regular routine.

Along with this, I come here to learn and earn extra pennies during rest hours and lunch timings. From 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, I am not free. After that, I can contribute here and Humanatic for three to four hours. In short, late night working is also included every day.

So, starting from 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM at the constriction site and from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM, I am online working.

What a life. Wasted life of mine.

For me, it's not fixed but depending upon the priorities that the things are organized accordingly. But in categorically, the morning time is for stretching & thereafter throughout day busy in office & in the evening time I take rest & so prefer to watch some news debates or some spiritual discussions through online in the internet. The things just keep on with this routine till something important comes up like the interview as I am looking for changes.

Appropriation of 24 hours of a day into different purposes is natural. Most of us are forced to do so. Of course when in emergency, this divisions may not work. Also for the senior citizens, who do not have any assignment may have to choose time passing activities of their own. Those who are engaged in social works cannot also divide the time regularly in given format.
However, it is healthy in a way to divide a day into periods suited according to one's requirements. It will not be possible to copy this from another person's routine.

My day starts at 6 AM. One hour for exercise and yoga. 1.5 hours for pooja, 1 hour for other daily routines. 9.30 AM I will start from my house to reach my office. From 10 AM to 5 PM in the office. 5.30 PM back home. 5.30 PM to 10 PM time with family members and ISC for some time. While I am in office also in between I will try to go through ISC. 10 PM to 6 AM sleeping. 7 hours in the office, 1 hour for commuting, 3.5 hours of morning activities in the house,4.5 hours in the house with family and 8 hours sleep, this is the distribution of my time in a day.
Evening time there is no specific activity. Mainly spending time with my granddaughter during this time in the evening. Going out with family for any specific purpose also during this time only. I avoid going out unless otherwise there is any compulsion is there. Saturday and Sunday my time mainly go with my granddaughter. If she goes anywhere with her parents.

I am a retired person and have a more and less similar schedule except that my time with friends, relatives and neighbors is a little bit more that is 2-1/2 hours a day.

ISC is one of the main activities consuming about 2 hours daily.

Personal work and household work takes about 6 hrs. Hobbies also consume a larger part about 3 hours a day.

Walking exercise and puja take 1-1/2 hours. Internet (other than ISC takes about 1 hour) and after that I require a sleep for at least 8 hours.

This routine is more and less fixed but gets modified if I occasionally go for household shopping or social visits.

    Knowledge is power.

I wake up at around 5.15 a.m. Thereafter the usual routine of a Government officer continues. I go to bed at around 12 midnight. I enjoy writing in ISC and on another Website. I read a lot. I spend time with my family. I find myself fortunate when I can enjoy an afternoon nap. Many people will find my lifestyle unhealthy and unsocial.
