Less attendance may even force the University authorities to ban the candidate for the exams.

The exams to the first year MBBS course is going to be held from 2nd Aug 18, and the process of issuing hall tickets to the eligible candidates is on across the country. But the main rider is the attendance. That means those students who does not have the required attendance, the college is sending the list to the University and in turn the University is not accepting their exam fess online by stating that they are banned from writing exams. That is really a shocker for many candidate who think that maintaining attendance at this higher level of studies is not that important. Any comment ?

Attending college is very important even for college students. The attendance is very important for Science, Engineering and medical students. They have to attend practical classes and perform practicals and project works and demonstrations. If they don't attend regularly they can't learn the subject also. Hence for all UG courses and PG courses in the above subjects is very important and I accept the method the University is adopting for ensuring the attendance is very good. If they don't insist on attendance there will not be any difference between arts subjects and science and applied sciences courses.

But even one percent less than the mandatory 75 percent attendance is not eligible and therefore Medical students should not abstain for no reason.
