An unexpected parcel on friendship day( The characteristic in this story is straightforward nature and gift item is golden wristwatch )
On 05 August 2018, Mr Vijay Kumar Sharma was sitting on a chair and was reading an article about friendship day in the newspaper. He rarely has any friend due to his straightforward nature. Suddenly the doorbell rang, as he opened the door he saw a young courier man with a parcel. As he opened the parcel, he saw a golden wristwatch with a greeting card. The parcel was from his childhood friend; Mr Hari Vallba Mehta. He couldn't believe that he had received a gift from his childhood friend who had almost left him 20 years ago.
He remembered that both lived in the same building. Both have started going to school together. Both were the good friend from standard 1 to 12th class. Mr Sharma noticed that Mehta had started bad companies and was habitual of drinking. He tried hard to convince Mehta not to take alcohol as it was bad for his health and for his studies. When Sharma noticed that there is no effect on Mehta and he was almost taking alcohol daily, he informed about his condition to the parents of Mehta. Mehta was very angry and stop talking to Sharma. The parent of Mehta decided to leave the place and shifted to any other city. After that Sharma had no clue about Mehta.
Suddenly he opened the greeting card, he found the sender name H.V. Mehta, Collector, Neemuch district MP. He couldn't believe that his friend has become the collector. A note was mentioned at the end of the greeting card that he wanted to meet Sharma at the childhood playground of the city at 5 PM. Mr Sharma saw the time. It was 4 PM and he was 50 Km away from the main city. He reached the playground immediately by hiring a cab. He saw a white BMW came and a good looking young man came from the BMW. It was not anybody but his childhood friend Hari Vallabh Mehta. Both hugged each other and cry for some minutes.
Mr Mehta told that after leaving the city his family reached Jaipur and he started his study there. His parent took a promise from him not to concentrate anything else except studies. He got his name in the merit list of 12 and Govt. provided him with a scholarship for further studies. And after that, he has become a collector.
He also told Mr Sharma that he wanted to talk to him but did not have the courage to meet him. Ultimately, on friendship day he found an opportunity and sent the gift with a message of meeting at the playground. Mr Mehta also told if Sharma had not informed his parent at the right time he would have destroyed his life forever. He is the true friend of him.
Mr Sharma was pleased that his friend has become the collector. Both have tears in eyes but smiles on the face. Both were very happy to find childhood friends again.
