This seems to be a very interesting and nice topic for discussion. What I feel is that although the development of an organization or growth depends on people who know more about it or who have gained a lot of experience but then why do companies go for hiring freshers in huge numbers? It is because fresher’s or graduates fresh out of college will have the knowledge, skills and the ability to work more for the company and are trained in latest technology so they will be able to gain knowledge and equip themselves . But experienced may have many job offers at hand and the position they hold may not interest them and will quit the job easily to seek better prospects. So it is ultimately the fresh talents that work to learn and contribute to the growth of the organization than experienced. Freshers are utilized by most companies and they perform well as they will be considerably much younger than experienced and learn from them all that are essential and do more than them in turn!

This topic is really very innovative and nice. The fact behind this scenario is that as the youngsters have a adventorous and more of ideas and skills in hand but have not tried using it in their gone days due to the restriction that was chained around them. These fresh minds that had been stocking the ideas and skills ,when exposed to scene burst out their talents and also they do have much better ideas than the trained ones. When newly exposed they grasp all the ideas given to them with enthusiasm and more of encouragement.

This topic is very interesting . I feel that for the development of an organisation or organisation's growth both experienced and freshers have to work together. Freshers take time to understand the work culture and experienced one can guide them thru. Freshers have many ideas but they may not be practical . Experienced ones can tell them what can be implemented and what not and why. Experienced ones can utilise the young force as they want as the freshers are with great energy and are willing to devote their time to build their career. Mostly in India Freshers have bookish knowledge which is not practical. Hands-on experience can only make them more suitable for the work. How to handle everyday /different problems can not be taught within a classroom , only experienced people can tackle tricky situation . Freshers might get nervous when facing a particular tricky problems. They need advice from experienced people to come out of the situation.
So for me we need youth and experienced together to work for organisation's betterment.

::: Experience v/s Youth :::
See this is like choosing between Sachin and Dhoni, its like choosing between the man who created the robot and the robot who is now doing tasks for the man. Both of them have a unique place and cannot be simply compared. Regarding IT companies, as i am belonging to IT sector, they are recruiting some freshers to increase their database and work group but most of the freshers who get admitted into IT sector-based companies dont work on their own. They are managed by someone who is senior to them, who has more experience than others. So clearly, more preference would be given to experience but at the same time job is not given to a 40 yr old who has lots of experience but no technical talents.
So, this is a utopia. Experience is obviously one of the main factors looked upon, but at the ame time one must have some skills and innovation which is commonly found in a fresher. So my conclusion is that i support the youths who have plenty of experience, they are most likely to be successfull. In this present day environment, one has to have all that it needs to sttand one step ahead of all his competitors.

I think this is a very good topic for discussion. In my point of view the organizations which are at the zenith of success are the ones which have the perfect mix of youth and experience. The youth are no doubt more updated and are the need for the hour but there is no substitute of experience either.
Youth are more energetic, more lively and much better equiped for the demanding world of today, but this zeal and enthusiasm is of no use until it is channelised in the right direction. On the hindsight you have the vision, the knowledge, but you are not zealous or enthusistic than it is of no use.
Youngesters are filled with illusions of their own immortality. The youth is more aggressive, is prone to make mistakes, and is likely to buckle down under pressure, this is where experience comes into play. It makes you calm and gives you the courage to hold your nerves and perform at your peak even under pressure. Experience has the calming influence for the youth.
By the end of year 2010 INDIA would have the largest youth population in the world. To show them proper direction and guide them to their destination, you need people (who have been their and who have done it in the past) to act as mentors.Remember it is all about learning form previous mistakes. The experience of older workers can be invaluable and an asset to the organization. Thus, in my point of view a perfect blend of youth and experience, makes the right combination.

In my opinion any organization that is willing to grow can't ignore both youth and experienced people, experienced people are useful for designing a product as they have gone through certain products that may be of same kind but some features may not be present in that,so they may design or develop with those missing features.
Youth on the other hand needs to implement the design criteria and they can give their opinion on the product being developed.
Youth can be best at programming as they are fresh from their course, they may not be that good at managing the things.
Experience counts when there is a problem that decides the fate of the organization, youth only look at the short term advantages rather than predicting as to what will happen after certain period of time.
Today we youth are having a tendency of finishing the things fast, but that may be fruitful today, but what about tomorrow?
What today we need is youth with an attitude to do things as and when given and experienced people who can guide the youth in right way.
The decision as to whether we need to go with freshers or experienced depends on the filed we work in,
In a field like software coding youth have a prominent role as they the advantage of learning new technologies.
But in a field like politics experience always counts.
So to have a Successful organization both freshers and experienced need to play their role with mutual cooperation and understanding.

Being short and precise I would like to mention that talent is an eternal things present in both experienced and the youth. The difference is the youth are energetic and can reach the goal with fresh blood of energy while the experienced one will apply all this tricks of past learning to achieve their goal.

A mind which is free of preconcieved ideas is always ready to take new challenges and therefore well prepared to tackle them also. A young person is with out any fear and he is capable of doing things better and is very quick to take a decision. Sometimes, this can fail and it is only experience which shall guide them. Therefore it is imperative for any organisation to have both the fresh blood and experineced person to guide to get the best results. No one can ignore the old and the wise. For planning you need the experineced and for execution you need the young and the energetic. I hope others also agree with what I said.

For the development of an organisation both experienced and freshers have to work hand in hand. There should be symbiosis.Experienced seniors guide youngsters who are energetic & can work faster.Youngster's energy & senior's brain will make a task easier.Experienced seniors can handle difficult situations with patience & less stress.Youngsters can learn newer technology faster. Patience is a quality which youngsters have to learn from seniors as aggressive decisions may prove wrong & lead to failure. Disadvantages of having seniors - they expect more salary & limited working hours. Advantages of having juniors-they work more with less salary.

The main reason for recruitment of freshers in IT companies are as follows: (1) to reduce its "salary cost" by recruiting them at minimum CTC. (2) Easy work extraction from them.
If they recruit experienced personals then they have to face the following difficulties: (1) Unable to extract the work effectively. (2) Huge CTC on behalf of their salary.
However both of them are need for an organisation for their success, a single senior personnel of the organisation can handle many number of freshers.

Hi Ram Kumar,
The topic you have selecteed is having its own importance. Whether we take the same in our personal life or official life, one cannot work without the other. One is dependent on the other. For ex. Father (who is a goldsmith) will guide the son how to make ornaments and what are the techniques to be used while dealing with customers. Son with the latest technology available make out the designs and utilizing fathers experience will make the ornaments with less weight and with new design. So, here both are dependent on each other.
In my view like this only even the development of an Organization cannot be in the hands of either youth or experienced. Experienced people can guide the youth about the problems which they may face while doing the work and what are the precautions to be taken while working to avoid silly mistakes, which normally can be easily controlled. Time management, tackling the situation, cost control etc. will be known better by the experienced which can be shared with youth and with the latest technology the youth can try to work more perfectly. So, the development of an Organisation should be in taking the youth in the places where the energy and fastness should be used. Especially in computerization, programming, marketing youth should be taken, so that the work can be completed with the energy within the time. Experienced people normally should be taken for management, HR solutions, accounting solutions, cost control purposes. So that their ideas can be taken easily. Here the energy need not be used. Hence, the work will run smoothly.

Young people have a great role to play in improving the growth of the organization. They are capable of shouldering the responsibility for changes and progress. It is only during the youth stage everybody has full of idealism and with energy fights.
Eventhough young people have strength and knowledge, after entering into the organization, they need to know more from the experienced one. Experienced people have knowledge to implement and how to manage. But youth people didn't know how to manage. It is got only by experience.
The organization recruits freshers because experienced people expect more salary. So the organization recruits many freshers and they are guided by the experienced people in the organization.
After entering into the organization, youth people have much enthusiasm, have to achieve something and make better compared to others. Definitely, Youth people improve the growth of organization with the lead of experienced people.
Youth people provide hard work and knowledge. But experienced people provide hard work, knowledge and management skills. So the best would be "Experienced Talents".
Youth people work for long time in an organization when compared to experienced people. But experienced people make the youth as comfortable to the organization. The organization will grow by both the experienced and youth people. The more contribution for the growth of the organization depends on experienced people because of
1. They use the knowledge to implement the product. 2. They manage the higher officials and trainee. 3. They train the youth people as comfortable to the organization. 4. They become the model for the youth people. 5. They help youth people to mingle with the higher officials.
All are make experienced people as best.

In my personal view, it depends on the work and the company, whether it should hire Fresher or the Experienced personnel. If there is some work where new ideas are needed than fresher may me hired.

Experienced people are always needed in every part of an organization, you just can't run an entire organization on freshers, they do not know the basics of what an industry or organization looks like, for a fresher the only important thing is that he finishes his work on time, but it is for experienced people who has to maintain everything in order and integrate the things, freshers are sometimes impatient, this may spoil the work environment,so an experienced person can help them and sort out the things.
Freshers should be used in places where the work should be done quickly. An experienced person comes in handy for situations where the people have not met such a situation before, they may seek the advice of him, experienced people know certain things that freshers are not even aware of.
So both of them are important.

This is a very good discussion that will help in the growth and development of organization that really understand how to harmonize the young youth talents and the experience people, either presently working in their organization presently or those that have worked their before and probably serving as consultants to the company or organization.
In today's world there is need for innovations and novel ideas that will make things work because we are in a dynamic world. It is believed by so many organization that young or fresh graduate will still be abreast of all the things they were taught in the school and the very good ones can still apply it to make great differences. In another sense, new technology are emerging every minute and it take young and agile youths to research and really know what they are all about compared to the old ones that have a lot of things to think about; some of which are their personal family problems and the likes.
In term of knowledge assimilation, it is also evidence that the young talents can learn fast and understand any type of knowledge put to them, even to under study the very experienced people need sound and youth minds, that are not thinking much about issues of life.
One thing about experience people is that most of them don't want to expand their horizons they believe they think they are very comfortable but in a way they are limiting their potentials and even the capability of their organization if the company's operation is based solely on them.
Sometimes experience people are affected by their over confidence and they are not very ready to learn new things that will improve their productivity and even make things easy for them and their organization. This singular act, have also made many organization to loose many proceeds and contracts to young and dynamic organizations, who are giving their best and even ready to learn more challenging thing that will make their work more efficient.
Though experience they say is the best teacher, but experience and with zeal and readiness to face new challenges are the order of the day. So due to the deficiencies stated above about experienced people, many organization prefer young talents that will put everything on line to get result and ready to face contemporary challenges.

This is a very good topic for discussion. According to me freshers can contribute more than experienced, because they are more enthusiastic than experienced,as they enter into professional world with lot of dreams. But experienced employees would come across many achievements and they are almost in the self-actualized state. But I do agree that hiring freshers or experienced candidates depends on the company and nature of the job, also freshers are sources of innovative ideas flowing like a river which can be regulated, controlled and make use of it only by experienced professionals.

i think both youth and experienced person are good at their own place. in IT,companies need work and innovation. Companies need more to be done in lesser time , hence youth got preference. but in many places they need experienced person.
especially banks and post of reponcibility. more and more work is transfer to india from abroad, because of cheap labour in india. all are trying to reduce their labour cost . and india is best place for this. mncs can save lot of money by that. youth can learn very fast and ready apply them any time. but experinced needs time he will not work in drastic situation but youth can. mnc can take advantage of them , youth only want money and good future. slowly they will gain experince
but for post of responcibility all need experienced no one recruit youth.

Hi Ramkumar, Your topic had created enough stir especially among the young people who are members of this site. It is important that you need young people who are capable of doing long time work, who think differently and work in a differnet style. The more fast they are the more mistakes they commit. These mistakes teaches them new things and they find this some times nerve wreaking and we find many youngsters dying of cardiac arrest. The tension and pressure under which they are forced to work especially in the IT sector forces them to overwork and negotiate with their health and we find that the lifestyle induced diseases on the rise. I shall say that the youth must be given the job of executing and suggesting in a company so that they help the organisation more creatively. The elderly people sensing their capability should encourge the young people and must advice and guide them in a proper channel so that their years of experiance do not go waste. A very good organisation should make available the best of both the young people and the elderly experienced people.

I think that both youth and experienced people are equally important.Though i think that there is a lot of spark in the youngsters because they want to build up their career and work more harder than the elder ones but at the same time i also think that experience matters a lot.For instance an experienced man who is a scientist knows all the precautions carefully. So i think if both the youth and experienced people will work together then only our nation can progress.

The topic experienced vs youth not only implies only to IT sector but it can be taken considered in various sectors as well both priavet and public. Its obvious that youth (fresher) who comes onto field he will be not aware of the process and etc stuff that is happening on the floor but he obviously has his own solutions.Every individual has his own way of work culture or he may get effected from others as well.Experienced guys always thinks in the way they have got habituated or got impacted by the work they have been doing from years. For an organization to grow it should have a balance maintained between both youth and experienced so that it can have advantage of fresh ideas coming in and also the experienced person make the ideas to get delivered as per standards.Even politics in india has to really encourage youth.

I completely agree with Sidarth that if youth and experienced people both will work together then only our nation can progress whether its an it company or something else. But at the same time i also feel that we need innovative ideas which only the youths can give because they are very career concious and also today's generation is much faster than the older generation.

youth are powerful but they need experiences to execute their idea which can be got from the experienced adult old persons. for example we refer to the previous postulations and theories before doing an experiment. also the well known big bang theory was older one and todays young scientists trying to experiment on this based on the previous theories.
so without the correst ratio mix of these two we cannot get success.
Experience is the mother of teaching
