HAI ramesh, You have chosen a very good question. As we are all seeing the poor performance given by our Indians in the olympics, what would the reason for all these????????? Why dont many come up atleast by participating in all the events????? i feel its the mistake of our government who should have motivated people to participate and suceed.... in every stste youngsters having talents should be motivated to take part in what all activities they can ,as an active participation in what all activities they like.....

I had given a response for same type of question in a another thread.Find below my response. First of all in our country sports should be considered as a career option. In India education is given more importance and if at all the parents willing to expose their kids to sports, they are choosing only few sports like cricket or Tennis.Govt should take the initiative of developing sports at school level.Young talents should be identified, whatever their area of interest, provide them the infrastructure(at present we dont have that much) and free training. Those who display high standards in national/international level should given jobs accordingly. Also major corporates should come forward to sponsor the talented people. At present the corporates are roping only the established stars as their brand ambassadors.Bindra got the gold because of his induvidual brilliance and huge money his family invested for his training and other activities.how many in India could afford this? Its a huge subject we can keep on talking for hours.Only the time will tell how will be our sports growth after 20 years.

Hi ramesh, Well if we want some success in olympics then such sports should be fostered in our schools in order to bring up children and compete at the national level. We need to invest money in the infrastructure of these sports. And children should be given full encouragement so that they can take sports even as their career. Our government needs to take a step forward for the welfare of our people.

In Beijing Olympics 2008 ,we have seen improvement in India,s performance.......as we have got our first gold medal in individual category and first ever medal in wrestling and boxing. Moreover 3 of our wrestlers qualifies for quarter final round. We have recognized many new talents coming from small cities. But the problem which most of the sports people are facing is the lack of opportunities ,support ,sponsorships. And corruption which does not allow the genuinely talented people to go to compete at international level. As we all know commonwealth games of 2010 is going to be held in India .So we should focus on our sports people also so we can also have bunch of medals.Congratulations to all Indians who have won medals in Olympics.

Has all know that hockey is our national game but the people does not show mush importance towards it. They show more interested in cricket which is not our national game. This itsel shows that the people show more interest in the game which make them entertainment. For that reason only the indians are not able to concentrate towards the olympic
