Editors, Members -- Attention Needed -- Duplication Question Paper Section

Hi Editors/Members,

The minute Tony has started the Payment for the question paper, I have seen across nearly 100 papers posted by different members which are already posted in the Question paper section.

Editors have approved them. I have verified some papers and all of them were reposted again. I have deleted some of them after informing Jose.

Chat :
Nitin: Duplication of Question paper posting has started
Nitin: I have seen about 50 papers posted again
Nitin: and approved
jose mathew: delete thewm

I have deleted most of the papers. Still there are some pending question papers. I would request every EDITOR NOT to approve any of the question papers.

I have informed this too Jose and Ramkumar had informed that I need to take Tony permission before deleting them.

SO PLEASE DO NOT APPROVE ANY PAPERS AND TILL TONY RESPONSE US BACK.

Regards,

Nitin

Tony,

I think you need also keep check on some of the important resources when they are pinned, it is not only for editors or member it is an action that I think you need to reply.

It is all on your reply that I can go forward and work on this.

As me deleting these papers, will affect many member in many ways:

1) Decrease in Points.
2) Loose Revenue.

So I think you need to reply for this.

Regards,

Nitin

Hi Nitin,

I got a doubt here, whether we can include any new restrictions like if any body post the new question paper which is already exists, why cant we include a programme which says question paper already exists. If we do it will not make the members to feel bad. As at the same time it shows that paper exists. This is my suggestion. Whether it is possible or not, can be decided by Mr. Tony, Jose Mathew and the editors.

Hi Subba,

This can be done, but require rigorous search. I have seen members updating the same paper in Different subject under Same university.

The same member updating the paper not once but 3 times under right category and different category.

I have already told Tony about this and he is busy with other things. Members are getting paid for one question 3-4 times in ISC. It was 5 rs before and now 1 Re.

So i think Tony, needs to decide what action needs to taken.

In last two day, I have rejected about hundreds paper for certain members. Need to see on Monday, how many are going to start thread stating I lost Points and my earning are decrease.

As the one paper updated 5 times, I have taken the first/old updated papers and rejected others.

Getting ready for the action :-)

Waiting for response from Tony.

Dear Nitin,
Posting old question paper is very good job because atleast our students can find old question papers here for reference and study. Indiastudychannel is really doing good job. If the members are posting the same question papers then it is the responsibility of webmaster to delete the repeated one. Nothing to worry about that.It is not for money making but sharing the resources with others. Moreover it is the value based service by Indiastudychannel rather than money making.

Hi Vinay,

ISC is paying money for posting of question papers. Tell me one thing, if a single question paper is posted 18 times. I would say it good for the students, as they are getting to view the same question paper again and again posted by Different member.

However, ISC is paying for each paper posted, whether it is already posted or new or duplicate.

The stats -- 1 Aug - 10th Aug-- we had limited question papers posting may 50+ a day or even less. The minute payment program started in 3 days 400+ posted. All are duplicate. ISC is paying for all the papers.

Isnt it is member duty to run a search before posting the question paper. Tell me what do you suggest.

Hi ISC members,
It is not possible for a person to search if the question paper already exists or not?
If this option is available then those who post the questions again must lose their points aswellas their revenue.
This will make the members more responsible and we will get only a few duplicate question paper in ISC.

Hi Lalitha,

It is possible to search each and every question paper which is posted.

You have a search option in the question paper section. Please copy the question paper name and click on Search. By leaving all other fields as ALL.

This will display all the question papers listed with same name, and respected University.

You can check and then post if the question paper is available or not.

If a member search and then post, this will not effect editor and point out the mistake. If one day we point the mistake and then start deleting them, this will lead to point decrease and revenue decrease.

Let me know.

Regards,

Nitin

Yes Nitin,

What you say is right. The site should be clean and tidy without double and triple postings. Duplicates will not look nice when some one is searching. You can see that for yourself.

When you search for a question paper under one subject and you find three or four there instead of one, will it look nice.
Some do it unknowingly and some intentionally just to increase their earnings.
Anusma and I are faced with the problem at India Review Channel and we are deleting the extra ones. Tony has announced there that the duplicates will be rejected and deleted. It can be done.

The same thing can take place here too. I know , it is a very difficult job, but all will understand. We can all do it together. Keep our site clean.

Before adding a question paper check if it is already there and then post. It will take only a few minutes but you will not have to face rejection and the red colour.

Hi Nitin,
I am sorry for the typing error where I by mistake wrote "it is" instead of "Is it".
Any way I am satisfied with your answer and happy that the editorial board is paying attention even to a simple question of mine.
Thank you

Hi Nitin,

It is correct. As you said this site is for providing upto date education related information. To earn points or cash credits if the members go on posting duplicates, the people who are searching for the required information will think this is all confusing. They will not be interested to come to this site for further informations. So, it is always better not to duplicate the question papers or admission notifications or any other information.

Hi Tony,

I have started cleaning up the duplicate question papers and however, one question that I have for you.

Let me know, I have mostly deleted the quesiton paper posted after the 1 Aug. Do you want me to go forward and delete even previous date questions, as question paper are posted 2-3 times in different months.

Regards,

Nitin

Dear Nithin.

Please tell me why my question papers have been deleted? Is it because of reapetitions? I had taken a lot of time downloading and uploading them in ISC.

Author: Nitin Bajaj - Editor    22 Aug 2008Member Level: DiamondRating:     Points: 4
Yes Riaz, it was because of duplication all your paper were deleted. I would request you please run a search before uploading any paper in quesiton paper sections.

We have seen this month about each and every paper posted are duplicates. We are deleting all the duplicate papers posted in the Aug. If they already exist in ISC.

Thank you.

Nitin
