Hi Shashi, you have already mentioned the reason in your question only? Yes the main reason is the population, it is but natural that if a resource is distributed among 2 and 200, person in the group of 200 can avail 100 times less resource that the person in the group of 2.

attitude is what makes everything.
if you are able to communicate with the US people you can very well see their attitude and ours.
once you are good in attitude and then gain confidence the everything falls in place
Japan is one of the few countries with not much natural resources. they were totally gone in the bombings but still they came out. we have long history but we were fighting among ourselves for supremacy and still we are doing the same.
switzerland has no cocoa plants in their country but still they are the best in chocolate.
Hope you had the reason behind our developing countries.

Hi,
Main problem with India is population. In India people of different culture and religion stay together. We have caste system We descriminate with girls. Half of the population is below poverty level. We are always fighting in the name of religion or caste.
We end up devoting more time in irrelevant things rather than using our time in useful and productive way.

Whatever the case, there is a proverb in Hindi "Ghar ki murgi dal baraabar". We like to think foreigners are better and they think the same about Indians. So, well performing Indians get a place there after trying to prove themselves in India.
this attitude if changed, can do wonders to Indian economy and development.

First let m thank you for posting a beautiful debate.
India is notlike america from many point of view.
1. Social view- From social view the pattern of society is very much different than what we have you may term it due to rapid development and industrialisation.
2.Economical view- From economical view they are more sound than we indian their ppp is more than indian. Their income level and average spending is also way above than indian (average). In india people are still strugling for their basic need. Still a great chunk of masses are there below proverty line (income below 1 dollar/daily acc. to UNESCO)
3. Political view- in india we have many party system while they have 2 party system so then can take action faster than us.
4. Independence- America got independence well time ahead india.
5. First mover advantage- In market there is always first mover advantage that is now america enjoying
I feel due to all above reason india is not like america

India is still lagging behind America , even though we have loads of resources available with us.
The main problem lies with the mindset of the the netas here. I feel that the politicians of our country are solely responsible for this sorry state of affairs.
They are only interested in making money through all corrupt means , and keep devising new tactics to fool the people. The schemes which they announce at regular intervals are nothing but a farce.
And moreover there are many people in the country who dont pay taxes regularly. A country can only improve , if its coffers are full , which is possible only if people pay their taxes regularly.

i dont want to believe population is the main problem in India because China is more populated and the nation is gradually emerging as the most powerful nation in the world! i believe the main issue is patriotism. American are so patriotic that every thing affecting the country bothers them. i think other factors responsible for the disparity include economy, level of literacy and so on. But frankly speaking, India is not doing badly compared to my country, Nigeria, we are we have abundance of resources and lower population, yet we are suffering.

Yes, we accept that US is the best in their economical status!
But because of that we can't think our country is back!
Here most of people are thinking only and never they update and check their own ideas with us!
But they are not like that; they will first check and then think how we can improve their ideas to make good result!
So first we will give up to sit and think the ideas lonely! First we have to start the process and try to get the final good result means sure we will get the development soon!
