The story tells, any living things / non living things are not useless here.

This story also conveys that people are never satisfied with what they get and expecting more and more...
ie In the story,those people got shelter from the tree but they still expect fruit from the tree.This implies their 'dissatisfaction' even after getting shelter from the tree and 'expectation' which is proved by they expecting fruit from the tree!
