In the field of sports INDIA had done reasonably well
A. Olympics(3 medals) -1. Abhinav Bindra[shooting ]- gold
2.Vijender Kumar [boxing] - bronze
3.Sushil Kumar [wrestling] -bronze
B.cricket-1. greatest success for IPl
2.High margin win over England in Test And ODI
3.BEst performance of India under Dhoni's captaincy

In politics INDIA is in the same condition
The same corruption,problems,ignorance etc
It is hard to say that india can develop in the field of politics unless educated youths enter the politics.

India-US Nuclear deal:
After three years of often frustrating political and diplomatic wrangling, the nuclear deal was finally signed at a ceremony at the State Department in Washington, DC. Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee sealed the deal with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The deal lifts a ban on US-Indian civilian nuclear trade imposed after India's first nuclear test in 1974.
The signing of a civil nuclear agreement clears the way for American companies to bid for Indian nuclear contracts. But that is just one of the fruits of an agreement whose real significance is that it ends 34 years of nuclear pariah status and recognises India as the worlds de facto sixth nuclear power.
It also turns the page on three decades of established US policy and in the process, takes Indo-US relations on to the next level.
