Hi,
this is an important issue to be discussed. The world is getting polluted day by day. The measures followed are very less compared to the destruction. If this increases then no one can stop our earth from destruction. We must follow some self disciplines, which i think is the first and foremost thing to do.

As we know the measure need to be followed in all forms of pollution like air, water, land and noise. Using renewable sources of energy is one of the main ideas to prevent pollution. Use of pollution free fuels can pave the way for most of the earth's pollution by air. Recycling the wastes is another good idea. Government can make necessary steps to prevent the mixing of industry wastes in to the pure water sources like river, ponds, pools, lakes etc., Avoiding noises at places where people get crowded can be done at major cities.

And there are many side effects of such pollution the major one is the global warming, which results in the melting of ice caps at the polar region. Another big issue is the ozone layer depletion.

All those consequences are a minor defect for us, but will cause a major defect for the future generations, we should think of that and follow all possible rules in each thing we do. We should sacrifice some of our small happiness which could largely safe the environment from polluting. Use of plastics can be largely avoided and the use of recyclable materials like paper bags can be promoted.

thanks,
siva.

Plant a tree or grow a garden. Plants turn carbon dioxide into the oxygen we need to breathe. Trees also help keep the soil from eroding away, and they give animals like birds and squirrels a place to live. You can grow plants inside, too. Try growing some salad greens or herbs, that you can eat, on your windowsill.

When you don't have far to go, try riding your bike or walking instead of getting a ride in a car. You'll help save energy, lessen the amount of air pollution, and you'll keep healthy and fit, too!

Turn off the lights when you leave the room,
and turn off the radio and TV when you're not using them.

Did you know that you can save an average of 9 gallons of water if you turn the faucet off while you're brushing your teeth ?

Help keep the Earth beautiful by helping to keep your neighborhood clean. Why not help organize a Litter Clean-Up Day at your school or in your neighborhood...

Recycle cans, bottles and newspapers. This reduces the amount of trash that ends up in our landfills. Most communities recycle. Does yours?

Mani

The answer is that we have been endowed with. There is, indeed, a way to provide the type of future you want, but it involves a discovery that has not yet been found. It will come, and all that we need is to be patient.

The "earth" does not need us, and will continue long after we have found other solutions.

Hi friends
It is a very good question posed. The pollution can be controlled with proper guidelines and creating awareness programs related to it.

There are lots of pollution across the world. Only few are concerned about the matter and the rest just contribute to the pollution. We should try to learn how to use natural fuels and man made articles too. We simply burn plastics and create air pollution. The quality of water is also diminishing and we have to take proper measures to eradicate these problems. If we dont take them then the world has to face a very dangerous consequences.

So it is really our bound duty to teach everyone in the family to keep an eye on this issue always. At the end, if everyone managed to create awareness in their family then we can hope for a pollution free environment.

ya it is a very good question posed. nowadays due to vast population, nature is very much destructed. trees are cut very often. due to cutting of trees there is less rainfall, so in much of the areas there is no water to drink or live. so we should stop cutting trees, this can also help in our global warming.

hi
People had always altered their environment with problems such as acid rain, desertification, food shortages and water pollution. From the catastrophic to the inconvenient, these environmental problems proved the dramatic and most visible negative effects of man’s carelessness to their environment. Although we struggle for more food, produce more potable water and plant every inch of a deserted land piece; still we must confront the issue of the neglecting and non-concern of man to their habitat. The increase in population leads to land clearing and habitat loss for other species, increased energy use with harmful industrial emissions, deterioration of water supply and other problems. As our resources dwindle, our mountains of garbage grow! And so was the emission of methane in the atmosphere. Truly, it is noted that methane (NH4) is a greenhouse gas- a factor contributing to the global warming problem.

There are many people in this world. And as we multiply, we consume more resources without even renewing an ounce of them, and worse, throwing our rubbish not into the trash can, but into the ground. I can relate to you some ecological problems and facts about them. You should read this between the lines, be the one to act first so everyone will follow, perform drastic measures in saving humanity’s haven- MOTHER EARTH.

Pollution is really part of our life. And the natural balance of Earth is now gone because of these. In some areas, the air is so bad that people become sick from breathing it, and some even die because of it.

Even before there were people, there was already air pollution. Volcanic eruptions and wildfires became events that continuously add pollutants to the atmosphere. The only main difference between air pollution problems today and in the past is that it is now difficult to get away from them.

In recent news, there is a now-dying (or totally died) river in Bulacan that belongs to the list of the World’s Top Fifty Dirtiest Rivers. It’s bad, but just up for now, we should do something to regain the life of this river and all of our water resources. Bring back the dead ones and regain marine life. We and the future generations greatly needed clean water.

We cannot totally eradicate pollution, because it is already stated in the 2nd law of thermodynamics-no process can be 100% efficient. Anyway, we can further minimize its cases by due cooperative efforts and measures.

1. Do not smoke. Its effects are generally obvious.

2. Do not burn wood, leaves and plastics. It can minimize our wastes but it can also destruct ecological balance and can also lead to asthma attacks and long-term effects in the lungs. Try segregating wastes.

hai friends

The population is ine of the most threatening fact for most of the country. The countries like china ,india are having more popullation at the same time they are taking lot of steps to control the population.

Once the American population is comfortably under control, be it voluntary or compulsory methods, the "do as we do" propaganda can begin on the rest of the world. From The Population Bomb:
"What about vasectomies? A few years ago, there was talk in India of compulsory sterilization for all males who were fathers of three or more children. Ignore for a moment the socio-political problems that would be raised by such a program. Consider just the logistic problems, as A. S. Parkes did. Even if those eligible could be rounded up, it would take 1,000 surgeons or para-surgeons operating eight hours a day, five days a week, a full eight years to sterilize the candidates who exist today. And the stock of candidates is growing very rapidly. Can you picture the probable results of a government attempt to sterilize 40 million American males? What a problem it would be in our country, with its relatively informed populace and efficient transport and communication system! Imagine such an attempt in India, where the difference between castration and sterilization (still not clear to many Westerners) would be almost impossible to explain. As one might expect, the principal Indian official thinking in such tough-minded terms, Dr. S. Chandrasekhar, ended up in a less influential position in a government shuffle.

"A general answer to the question, "What needs to be done?" can be given easily. We must rapidly bring the world population under control, reducing the growth rate to zero and eventually making it go negative. Conscious regulation of human numbers must he [sic] achieved. Simultaneously we must greatly increase our food production. This agricultural program should be carefully monitored to minimize deleterious effects on the environment and should include an effective program of ecosystem restoration. The world's supply of nonrenewable resources must be assessed and plans made for the most economical and beneficial management and use of what remains of them. As these projects are carried out, an international policy research program must be initiated to set optimum population-environment goals for the world and to devise methods for reaching these goals.

the increase in population will surely results in more deforestation, pollution and non safer human life.

so we should take some precuation steps for controlling the world population
regards
suresh

Solar energy will be preferred by many in future. Natural resources are scarce & we have to do something actively to save oil, gases, etc. If we don't recognise this now, we will have to repent in future. Solar energy is freely available & it can be used for heating water, etc. It saves a lot of fuel. Almost 24 hours hot water is available in summer. In winter also we can get hot water for sufficient time. Only problem occurs during rainy season.

Save Life, Save Earth: ACT NOW AGAINST POLLUTION. People had always altered their environment with problems such as acid rain, desertification, food shortages and water pollution. Although we struggle for more food, produce more potable water and plant every inch of a deserted land piece; still we must confront the issue of the neglecting and non-concern of man to their habitat.

According to the website www.chem.prenhall.com, the population growth and environment are intertwined.

Hi Friend,

It is a really good question that you have posted as it has to be addressed urgently throughout the world.

There are couple of things that we can do to stop this harmful pollution.

1. Plant trees in and around your house. This will not only prevent pollution but also help us to get some shade during summer. This will also encourage your neighbors to do the same.

2. Try to avoid burning plastics and rubber products. This will cause lot of health hazards to us and also to the people around us.

3. Try to minimize taking printouts in office. I have seen many of them waste paper by unnecessarily taking printouts in office which may not of importance.

4. Recycling newspapers and plastic cans can not only prevent pollution but also minimizes the amount of waste products that we produce each day.

These are couple of points that we can apply in our daily life in order to save the world. By this way we can thank the world for giving us a beautiful place to live in.

Please treat this world as your own home and take good care of it.

For effective blogging visit

Air pollution is caused by the constituents emitted by vehicles which include, carbon monoxide, this is also a green house gas it also leads to global warming.

There are many other inert gases which lead to serious air pollution which would later be difficult to control and more than half of these gases pave way for global warming, which could turn out to be disastrous. Industries should adopt to eco friendly methods of production of goods/products so that the emission from these industries can be at the least effect to the global environment.

The industries can take initiatives to recycle their emission of harmful gases to that the poisionous particls can be removed and plain air(without harmful chemicals) can be released into the atmosphere.

We have to save our world from different types of pollution created by us for the sake our next generation. The different types of pollutions are as follows:

1. Air pollution
2. Sound Pollution
3. Water Pollution
4. Land Pollution

The above are the major parts affected by the pollutions.

Air Pollution:
* Mainly caused by the increased usage of individual vehicles like 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers. If we want to reduce this source we have to minize the usage of individual vehicles i.e., using car for only one persons.

* Other solution is to find an alternate fuel system for driving all these vehicles.

* Usage of cooling system spoils the atmosphere especially the ozone layer. As the cooling system and fertilizers used for agricultures emit the gas called freon destroys the formation of O3.

Sound Pollution:
Mainly created by humans during the function times and also by using air horn in the vehicles.

Water Pollution:
* Nowadays we are directing all the liquid wastages to the rivers or seas, this not only spoils the water but also creates the water problem within the nation.

* We have to stop directing all the liquid wastages to the rivers, instead it must be recycled and used for gardening purpose.

Land Pollution:
* Mainly created by deforestation and stealing the mud from the river beds.

* Population must be controlled, must create the awareness about deforestation among the peoples with mind blowing diagrams and explanations.

Population and deforestation of the land are the major factors that are adding to the pollution country wide. I think adequate control on thes etwo will surely limit the pollution to the graet extent. Other important measures that can be taken for this pupose are as follows:

1. Plant more and more trees in the premises of your residence.
2. Individually be sincere enough not to pollute your city by cluttering in public places. Make proper use of the bins provided by the government in every nook and corner of the public places. Make good use of them and keep the city clean. Try to advise your children and younger ones for doing the same, because early habits if made strong, continues forever. So, why not inculcating good habits.
3. Industries should be set up in a particular designated area. They should function according to the rules and standards set up by the government, so that pollution coming out of them can be better disposed off. Moreover industries oozing out harmful smokes should be of a definite height.
4. Vehicle pollution is also affecting adversely. Proper measures should be taken in this concern.

All these steps if enforced sincerely will limit the pollution.

"By silence I conceal my imperfections and come to know others."

This is the most urgent topic for our survival. The members have all given good suggestions. In my opinion SELF DISCIPLINE is the most imp aspect. We generally ask others to do this or that or NOT to do this or that, but when it comes to us or our family we find an excuse.
I am a senior Citizen and VP of the Senior Citizens Forum at Bhopal, the city that suffered a lot due to chemical pollution. We observe environment day, take out rallies to educate and advice citizens to realise the dangers of smoking bidis and cigarettes, using plastic bags, eating gutka, waste of water and so on. In fact scarecity of water is going to be the most serious problem. WE already are getting alternate day water supply for one hour. Thanks for taking up this issue.

Pollution is a major issue now a days and it is alarming for our future generation.

It is our decision whether we leave a clean and green environment for our ancestors or leave an environment full of pollution.

It needs awareness of everyone and everyone should be demonstrated the causes of pollution and how to avoid them.

Please join the road shows being organised near you and also arrange road shows if you can near your locality.

Some points to reduce pollution:
1. Plant trees, the oxygen generators.
2. say no to polythene and plastic bags, instead ask for paper bag or use your on reusable bag.
3. Recycle plastics, please dont throw them or burn them.
4. Please use public transport as much as possible.
5. Recycle news papers.

Banshi.

hi,
All living things require water. In areas where water is plentiful, there are dense forests and lots of animals. In dry regions, there is much less plant and animal life. The earth’s fresh water and ocean water are also important food sources for the world’s population. Water is a substance most people take for granted.

Many of our lakes and rivers were important sources of fresh water. But people used them as dumping grounds for wastes and sewage. This has caused them to become polluted. Polluted water is not safe for drinking, swimming, or bathing. Pollution also destroys many of the organisms that live in oceans, rivers, lakes and streams.

Air is something that all living things require. We need air to breath, and nothing can grow without fresh air. Plants take in carbon dioxide in the food making process. Also during this process, they release oxygen into the atmosphere. Living things take in oxygen to break down the food they eat to produce energy.

When toxic or harmful substances are released into the atmosphere, they are called air pollutants. The main cause of air pollution is the burning of fuels. Coal and oil are needed to run our factories. Fuel oil is used to heat our homes. Gasoline is burned to make our automobiles run. Fuels are burned to help produce electricity.

When these fuels are burned, they release smoke and other chemicals into the air. acids then fall to the earth as rain, snow, sleet, hail or fog. This is called acid rain. This acid rain can destroy plant and animal life. Acid rain also kills trees and destroys crops. When it falls into lakes and streams, it kills fish and harms our drinking water.

If the governments would pay more attention to what is going on in our world, we would probably fond a sollution to the problem. Since it is the government who is in charge of the economi in our countries, it is up to them to give more money to oranizations, and maby create a more stright law.

Of all the pollution in the world, it is the big factorys, own by big companies who does the most damage to the envirement, by dumping dangerous chemocals into the soil and air. These problems can only be solved if the companies would find a less polluted way of getting wridd of felling waste.
