Hi
M B A and M C A both are the highly professional post graduate degree. Both have the bright career opportunity in the Industry. But one should be careful about the reputation of the university/Institute where he has to complete the course.Every body worried about the present economic downtrends but it is a short term condition and this must be revive with in a very short period. So one should not be decided or changes his motive of education based on this.In our country there is a every chance of Industrialization and is always a demand of the professional personnel.

Now if we think about the situation of downtrend then one should go for Managerial skill for better career opportunity. So I must select for the course of mba rather than mca.But in true sense it should be better to do mca and further to gain managerial skill do mba for greater career growth or scope.
There fore in conclusion both the course is suitable for any economic adverse situations.

Choosing a Master's degree depends on a person's interest and his goal in life.If you are interested in pursuing knowledge about Computer Applications and would like to work in a company MCA can be chosen.
A strong logical and analytical mind, good programming skills are pre requisites to pursue MCA.
If you want to be a manager of a company, having vivid interest in business you can take up MBA.
Both have bright future if pursued seriously.

Hemant,

Better is a relative understanding and there is no universal answer for it. Instead of expecting a direct answer, spend time in making yourself familiar with following:
a) What do these courses offer and what is your interest level for that
b) What kind of job profiles you should expect after such courses
c) What is the market condition for such courses.

In general in terms of opportunties though, MBA offers a wider variety of choices/fields while MCA is restricted to computers only. Having said that, MBA is slightly more challening due to wider aspects it covers than MCA which is focused on more or less computer application. In terms of market value MBA has more demand than MCA.

But then, that doesn't mean that you should just run behind MBA. You need to do self-assessment of your own capabilities, ambition and passion and see if you might do much better with MCA than MBA...

Hi
Which ever course you select, you have to it from the reputed university.Otherwise any course from any university has little or no value which results in precious time loss as well as no returns on the hard hearned money you invested.
For MCA you should have good programming and technical skills which you should hone day to day with latest technologies and developments.Otherwise you will become obscelete. With the fast developing technologies and innovations it is up to you to keep yourself updated. You cant relax once you get your degree and your appointment letter. The real test lies ahead.
For MBA you should be more of a teamplayer. You should be able to manage yourself along with your colleagues. You should keep your personal interests aside and work for the development of the company. If you plan to start a company, you should be well equipped with the trends in various feilds and departments so that no one will take you for a ride and also to show everyone who is the real boss.
Based on all these things you should opt for the course that best suits your personality and your interests.

It's all depend your personal attitude and interest. Their are equievalent opportunity in both streams but they are altogether very different in study aspects. MCA deals with software developer & MBA deals with management area.

If person feel that he is confident enough in language or networking or databases then you may opt for MCA. As you are doing B-Tech you must have good command over IT field you should go for MCA. After which you may try for MBA if needed. B-Tech students have more interests in software field.

On the other hand if you like management i.e. you have that much interest to go in managerial area you should opt for MBA.
As I am doing MCA as I want to go in software field i may opt to do MBA afterwards if i feel then MBA will be my extra qualification.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Hemant,

Very Good questioned.

In this situation MBA is better than MCA.

Because, this situation may continue to 1 or 2 years then there is not IT jobs for freshers. For MCA students there is only job in IT sector. So there is no guarantee to get job after completing their studies.

For MBA students, there are many groups like Marketing, HR, Finance and so on. Student can select specific group which he has capability to get job and continue in that field. They are more opportunities than MCA students.

MBA is better if management jobs are considered .Better job opportunities are available with good salary.
MCA is better if information technology jobs / software jobs are considered.
College students are opting for both courses as future is good. If you have done BCA, better to do MBA as you will be preferred because you will have knowledge about information technology jobs / software & management also.

My dear friend both MBA and MCA are professional courses. The scope of any subject depends on your interest. There is no shortage of jobs in the market for any field but you should be competent enough to be selected for the job.
So my dear friend firstly you should do a self analyzing exercise to come to a solution that what you want to become in your life, what are your goals, what are your interests. After this analyzation if you come to a solution that would be fulfilled by studying management then you should definitely go for MBA but if your interest is in I.T and getting a sitting job then you should go for MCA.
Now the point is that sometimes it happens that you will see you interest in both then you should go for MBA in IT.

May LORD KRISHNA Blesses you,

Hi,
If you are doing course in computer application, then its better to do MCA. And if you are from some other field then you only have to choose MBA.
Boththe courses can be equally rated.

Hi according to me its just a matter of taste!.Both are equally has advantages sometimes things may go wrong so based on that we cannot say this is better or that is better. Both are fine and the student can choose his own option. It should not be discouraged to a student dont study this choose only this it should not be like the way but instead should recommend both and it is students choice.

It depends entirely on your perspective and motive that which is a better for you. If you want to be a leader where your decision is going to make a difference in terms of organization's growth path then doing MCA won't help you here. Ultimately you can only provide the solutions which enables organization or business to move ahead faster.

If you are a tech savvy guy who enjoys to develop new applications which are very crucial to a business to grow and have an edge over other players then yes go ahead with MCA.

Professional coaching hone your knowledge, skills and most importantly attitude which definitely plays vital role. Opportunities are there in almost every sector be it technology or investment banking or retail.

Whatever you do, put up your best, and sure you will be coming out among flying colours.

The scope for a MBA graduate is unparalleled. Apart from attractive pay packets and placements being offered at college-level itself, it opens doors to various sectoral opportunities. The corporate world has seen many MBA professionals occupying top slots in the corporate ladder.

Today, a Management Degree has become an attractive proposition, as there are attractive entry level salaries (including $ salaries offered by some MNC's) and typically, a Management Graduate gets absorbed into a Company through the Campus Placement Program of the Institute. The MBA Program offers a lucrative career option to both experienced professionals as well as fresh graduates

Hi Hemant,

These both the courses of pg.
As per your question it depend onthe person if he wold like to go for IT industry or in the Software Indutry. He has to do MCA.
If a person wanna go for the Bussiness,or Marketing, he must go for the MBA.
These two courses have the their own value in their own Fields.

In my opinion it all depends on your objectives and your skills

Also, MBA one should be pursued for accelerating the career growth pace while MCA may help one to get his/her first job.

both are good branch.
but to decide what to do depends on lots of factors.
1.selection of college. actually every course is good if you select a good college.if you get admission to top b schools mba is good.
2. your area of interest.if you really wanna do mba or mca. nothing is better than your choice. when you are determined to do something. you give your best outcome there.which lead you to success.
3. money factor. how much you wanna spend for your education.
4. how many years you can wait to get admission in good college

"hi friends,
Which is better in current situation MBA Or MCA. No job surity in any feild."

Dear friends,
The above query is nothing but the outcome of economic crisis what world is facing right now.As we know that both MBA and MCA are highly rewarded courses in the industry. But now the student wants to get specific about their career path.

As far as MCA is concern, the course is all about the technical aspect of one's learning. The course opens the whole new world of I.T. to the candidate pursuing the course. No matter what the market condition is,if you are really confident about the technology you would have learnt,be confident that you will be absorbed by the industry sooner or later and will have a good profile and package to start with.

And my opinion about MBA is very simple, the course now a days acts like cementing factor for one's career or profession. No matter to which industry you belongs to,you should always target to become the part of management in your organization and there comes the significance of MBA.

Now if anyone would ask me to make a direct statement then I would like put it very simply,no matter what course you are going to pursue,MBA would always act like icing on cake, the finer the better.

Sandeep Tiwari.

Hi friends,

In the present situation MBA is better. Due to downfall of software companies, there may not be much scope for the MCAs. So, it is better to go for MBA.

Hi friend,

Choosing between MBA and MCA I would ask you to consider 2 things

First what is that really interests you? Are you a techie person or people person?

Second when and where you graduate? If you start pursuing now by the time you come out there will be a lot of graduates, and look for the college and the placement opportunities that are available. Watch out for the placement % too.

If you are a techie guy and gonna start pursuing now I would suggest MCA would be a great choice (in about 3 yrs the economy will definitely start showing improvements too).

All the best!!!

Hi Friends...

This is somewat more clear than above...

MCA - if you like computer programming stuff and wish a career working on computer programming projects viz., software application building etc., - You need to be good in maths.

MBA - if you wish to handle management work looking different areas of business viz., marketing, sales, finance, operations etc.,

both are good and depends on your choice, interest, what you wish to do and whether you have the skill, talent and to some extent personality (esp. in mba) to go along with.

success depends on right choice of field, and not going for what is popular - if you don't choose something which you aren't comfortable and lack the requisite skill, you will fare poorly, affecting your grades - and no company hires an average joe with a popular degree.

choosing what interest you and have the skills to match it, will always keep your interest, making you put better efforts, resulting in dedication and finally leading to success......and if you are more inclined towards better money, then i needn't say that money follows success.......also, success and successful people are not limited to one field or professions, it is spread across every field, and comes to the one who has chosen rightly and wisely.

all the best !!!!!

With Best Wishes,
Dinesh Reddy,
