Festivals are very important part of our life. We celebrate festival to recognize some important historical event. Festivals are means to share our happiness with others. Festivals makes are life enjoyable. They helps in bringing everyone together as one, as a family. Only India has the spirit of celebrating festival and has so many festivals. India is the only country in the world which has so many festival. This is the thing that makes us different from the other people of the world. Being the country of festivals.
In India we celebrate every season, every color of life. And that is the reason we have songs for every season and every festival. When i was in school i always use to wait for some festival to come so that we can get holiday from school. Not only me but every kid waits for some festival to come especially Holi (festival of colors) and Diwali (the festival of lights). These are the two main festivals one is celebrated in daylight and other at nighttime, that no one wants to miss in ones lifetime.
Celebrating festival is that medicine which removes the pall of disappointment from ones life and brings happiness. One always want that every day of his life should be festival, should be filled with happiness.

In India there are number of festivals and that is why people refer India as INCREDIBLE INDIA.

Thanks
Gurjant

hai,
festival makes the people union.
All the festivals that we celebrate have some profound meaning in it and they have some pragmatic purpose also.

If we take the example of Christmas, we all know that why it is being celebrated but when it comes to the purposes that it serves along with the religious one; primarily it is a psychological one. We all need some days of break in our life from our regular job. Sometimes we take it voluntarily but mass don't understand the purpose of taking break and it is for these people, the festivals serve better that anybody. They are forced to enjoy life and thus they can improve the quality of their life.

There are some other purposes also that a festival serves and usually you will find that people meet each other along with their families and thus improve their social life.

So now you can understand the meaning of celebrating a festival and we expect that you will also spread the message celebration the world over.
regards,
omnath

hai friend a nice question in this fast food world.Do you know why festivals are conducted in olden days .
Through festivals the relations meet in at a place. They share their joy, feelings , sad with all while attending festivals.
Love will blossom in everyone heart as they are exchanging sweets, foods with neighbours.
The children s also feel happy as they will get new clothes, food, sweet items etc.
We all count the days if festivals is approaching. i don't know about you but I'll count the days for Diwali every year.
Because it is the time to meet our family member, friends and so on....

Hi,
India is a land of festivals. Diwali: 'The Festival of Lights', is celebrated with zest and jollity. Diwali is a five day Hindu festival which occurs on the fifteenth day of Kartika. During this time, homes are thoroughly cleaned and windows are opened to welcome Laksmi, goddess of wealth. Gifts are exchanged and festive meals are prepared during Diwali. Diwali, being the festival of lights, thousands of lamps are lit in and outside every home on the day.

Candles and lamps are lit as a greeting to Laksmi. Lamp or "Deep" is the symbol of knowledge. Lighting the lamp of knowledge within us means to understand and reflect upon the significant purpose of each of the five days of festivities and to bring those thoughts in to our day to day lives.

Diwali Festival marks the coronation of Lord Shree Ram as the King of Ayodhya on his return to the kingdom with wife Sita and brother Laxman after 14 long years of exile and killing of Ravana - the demon King of Lanka. As the Hindus hold Lord Ram in high esteem, the festival of Diwali is celebrated with joy and charm that is unmatched in celebration with any other festival.

Thanks
Sandeep.

What do I believe is in olden days definitely there was no language and people communicated in sign languages. So when they expressed their joy they must have jumped and shouted and ate nicely for a particular reason. As the men got civilized they continued this by dancing and singing and preparing apecial dishes for occassions.
According to me celebration is nothing but expressing joy.

And afterward every religion met with many incidents which made them feel happy and celebrated it in their own way like Ramzan,Christmas,Diwali etc..

Also since due to the change in our lifestyle ,festivals are the only occassions when we meet our friends and families to greet each other.

Enjoy celebrating

Hi rubina,
{why do we celebrate festival.
what do we mean by celebrations in real sense.} good question that you have asked.

well lets start answering it

1) why do we celebrate festival? what do we mean by celebrations in real sense?
A) When you have attained or achieved something (like for instance lets assume you have got 92 % in PUC in PCMB)& you are filled with joy what will you do. You will enjoy by distributing sweets to your beloved ones & who supported you all the way to the goal right. so like this the celebrations came to be called as festivals. In the ancient times people used to celebrate if they got food. Then they celebrated when they conquered the kingdoms. Then they started performing pujas in order to get wealth, health & strength. So when they got all this by praying, by hunting, by achieving they started celebrating then they thought why dont we celebrate this every year & they called it by a name like kali puja, ganesha festival, etc.,thus the festival & celebrating came into existance, then it became a major thing that every one did. so now you know why we have to celebrate festival.

By celebrating festivals people came together & started friendship, trading, marriages, linking with the neighbors, developing communications with other side of the people etc.,

I hope you got the answer which you have been looking for.

thanks,
ram

Festivals are the essence of our life. They show us a reason to celebrate and to reunite by forgetting the differences among ourselves. Festivals bring a complete different atmosphere where each of us is filled by the devotion, friendliness and very generous towards the others. So it develops brotherhood among the various religions and persons. During the festive season, every one wants to celebrate it with everyone to make it an unforgettable moment in their lives. So festivals play an important role in our life. It gives us strength to fight with the evil and it guides us with showing a correct path to walk on. It eliminates the presence of evil in our minds and hearts. So festivals are of utmost importance in our life.
