Of course Dhoni has been the best player for the team India. There is no doubt about it. He can be regarded as the best captain India has got.
He has got many credits to his name. Let me share some his great achievements with you all.

In 2007, the Board agreed to give the command to Dhoni.

India went on to win the first T20 cricket World Cup 2007
First ever trilateral ODI series win in Australia versus Australia and Sri Lanka CB Series of 2007-08.
Dhoni captained Team India to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2008 at home versus Australia. India went on to win the coveted 4 match Test series .
Also Team India to win the RBS Cup 2008 at home versus England. India also won the the coveted 2 match Test series and the 7 match ODI series with the rest of the remaining two ODIs being abandoned.

Under Dhoni's captaincy, India defeated Sri Lanka for the second time to clinch the IDBI Fortis Wealthsurance Cup ODI series 2009 and the only Twenty20 International, the first Twenty20 International match held in Sri Lanka.
This is the second straight series win for Team India in Sri Lanka.

On the Indian tour of New Zealand in 2009, under Dhoni's captaincy India created history by winning their first ever ODI series in New Zealand, the National Bank Series 2009.India comfortably won the 5 match ODI series.

Also the Team won the 3 Test National Bank Series 2009 Test series. The victory in the Test series was India's first in New Zealand since 1967-68. In this series, Dhoni had led the team in the first and the last matches.

Dhoni is the first Indian Captain to achieve nine consecutive ODI wins.

There many other things as well which make Dhoni the best man off the ground as well.

    He is superb.

    Best Regards,
    Brijesh Singh

M.S.DHONI is a young and new Indian Skipper but has alreday achieved so much which places him in the top notch as far as Indian Cricket Captains are concerned. When he was given the reigns of an Indian T20 World Cup squad which did not have Indian Cricket biggies like Sachin, Ganguly or Dravid, cricket experts predicted a first round exit for the Indians. Dhoni though had other ideas and led India to become the 1st World T20 Cup. This was just the start of the long sucessful journey for the Indian team under the astute leadership of M.S.Dhoni. India defeated Australia in Austalia in a one day tri series and in a Test series at home. India won two odi series against Sri Lanka in the island nation. Dhoni won the ODI and Test Series against the England Team. Indian Team won the Test and Odi series Against the New Zealand Team. Many attribute Dhoni's sucess to lady luck but the truth is that he is a confident young man who has a never say die attitude and also a man who backs his players and asks them to go ahead and enjoy their game and themselves in the Cricket Field.
To Err is Human to forgive is divine.

Yes Dhoni is having luck in his way for quite a some time now. But don't expect it to continue this way permanently. He has to still work hard to make team India the number 1 team in international cricket. And also consistency will be the key, he has to group the players in such a way that they perform in easy conditions and also in difficult situations. This is the real test for him in future matches. Now a days Dhoni has been engulfed with ads and there will be no surprise even if he does not perform well in future matches.
