HI All,
I hope when you logged in ISC, you might have found a new feature in your profile page asking what are you doing ?. This is a part of the new social networking features being introduced in ISC.
The status message you type there will appear in your profile page and will be visible to anyone who is looking at your profile page. The same message will appear in another section called "Lobby".
The "Lobby" feature is currently under development and only some of the features are visible yet.
Lobby is a place where you can simply sit, relax and watch what members are doing in ISC. Once the feature development is complete, you will be able to see updates (status changes, their posts in various sections etc) from all members, selected members, or your friends.
This will help members know the status of other members and know how busy they are.
But I found some members misinterpret and updated their education, where they are staying etc.
If you are currently logged in, you can update your profile status. Do not post your qualification, address etc. Instead, post a message about what you are doing. Some examples are:
1. I am busy preparing for my M.Sc examinations
2. Busy editing in ISC
3. Busy posting content in ISC
4. I am on a vacation trip to Goa until next Friday !
5. Just finished my exams, Thank God !
6. Waiting for my exam results
7. Tomorrow is my Birthday, wish me a "Happy Birthday"
8. I am sick, need some rest

Hearty welcome to that isc has implemented this feature. some body always did the same mistake. their profile they have mentioned like that. this is good awarness whoever made a mistake.
if they follow mentioned above the information any one can easily find what they are doing actually this time.

Wow
It is a very good feature added. The main advantage i can see is we can reason ourselves when we are not active. If I have exams, I can put that as status message and thus let others know the reason why i am not active that particular day or week.

It's nice feature but have no value if the candidates don't update it properly. In my suggestion the message should show with name as everybody always may not visit lobby to check status. It will be better if there is indication of status ON/OFF with the names so the other can know who is online or not.

Hi Manas,
This Lobby feature is a kind of Status Update for a member. Please read twice the status examples above in the message and you will come to know how this lobby featured can be used and explored as well. For example If an editor goes on a vaccation and a member wants to clarify regarding a particular section, he can view his profile and check the status to contact further. Else he would simply contact that editor but he may not get reply as he is on vaccation. Hope you are clear in using this feature.

Hi Lenin,
This is a very nice feature. All the examples and the way of using teh Lobby feature and how it can help members for timely responses as you explained above is very good. The Lobby feature of ISC is very unique. I have never found such feture in any social networking site. Really ISC is the best online community to share our views, thought and even we can feel the love over here. Personally I love to be in ISc always but unfortunately time management comes into the troublemaker.
