Freedom of expression is acceptable to me, but this forum is meant for asking, understanding and explaining, if these three interacts then I think the frequency of attendance is will be more, as found in your previous thread about members loosing interest.
The question posted, its language is always should be clean and clear so everybody can understand and respond easily. Moreover ISC stresses usage of good English and grammar always, and it does not mean that sms language is not good but not good sometimes to understand.
Further, stressing to use good and proper English will help us to cultivate the tendency of using good English with grammar everywhere.

Hi
First of all, this was a group discussion. we should survey out what readers really want. And as for the concern of learning English,ISC has a dedicated section for this.
But as many of other site does not have any kind of restriction on how the user will use the words,i would like to hear from the members of ISC,which way is convenient for them.

Hi, This had been discussed a long time back. When you are discussing certain things amongst friends, it is ok to have sms language. But when you ask opinion of others or share certain knowledge with others, it is not good to do so with SMS language.
You are wrong Suhel, I am a member of few other social networking sites too, even there, you are not allowed to use SMS language.

Hi, I agree with Rajmiarun. Talking in sms language between friends is okay. But here we are trying to share knowledge with everyone that should almost be like a professional group discussion, that improves our sentence forming ability and communication skills.
I think that can be used while chatting, we can use that language while chat in ISC right.

Hw wld u like it if i put all my psts like this? is it k?
- Isn't the above sentence irritating to read, not to mention downright annoying?
- Is is so difficult to use complete words?
We have an exclusive English section just for members and visitors to improve their English skills. If we begin to encourage and use SMS-type language, the very purpose of that English section becomes null and void. We wish to portray ISC as a site that is professional in every way, in every word that is posted here. That portrayal will be sorely tarnished with SMS-type words.
Hence,Suhel,we will continue to discourage usage of short forms and encourage proper words. Also, please use a capital letter when you begin a sentence.

Hi Vandana, An apt and very nice example from your side.
Let me ask this to everyone. What does ISC mean? IndiaStudyChannel. Doesn't the purpose of study get defeated when you use the latest fashion of SMS language?
This is my analysis and nobody who thinks otherwise should take this as a direct offence to themselves. People who use SMS language whenever they can are people who are not very successful because of the facts that - they tend to take shortcuts, less devotion to minute details and always in a hurry for no reason. You use SMS language because you pay for every 160 letters you type there but in real life, nobody is charging you for speaking in full and fluent English. Many people these days find it tough to get a job not because of recession, but by including SMS lingo right in your CV. The last thing to really tick off an employer is to use shortcuts. They know that a person like that can easily threaten the organisation's existence hence their CV is never approved for interview.
The even bigger trouble is that it is spreading in many areas. Now, had I written this post of mine in full SMS lingo, I would have saved like 2 minutes of my day. But is the 2 minutes worth the 15 minutes of horror for the reader? NO. Moreover, people using SMS lingo don't find appreciation among peers and seniors. That is a huge disadvantage.
Suhel, See any editor's posts in the forum and other sections and you will find the very reason why we become the editors. It's because we always take care to use the absolute perfect formatting in English and act as role models for the new members to follow the same. Things like first letter of sentence capital, a space after a full stop, first letter of somebody's name in capital and expressing our thoughts in different paragraphs.
The more you make it easier for your reader, the more they appreciate you and thus you get the much deserved recognition which might come in handy anywhere in the world. So, always use English the way it is meant to be. Everyone's feels happy seeing that. I get a great feeling when I have submitted a post with the perfect grammar but a huge feeling of guilt when I submit a post in a hurry and make basic mistakes. So, it's all about how you view English in your heart. I hope you will too act as a role model for other members in this forum and help ISC to remove this SMS form of language from these forums. Here's wishing you all the best for your future and have a nice day.

Our Lead Editors have explained in their professional by citing some examples, first of all it is not understandable in its own terms, secondly as said earlier, as being an educational and knowledge portal, ISC stresses good usage of English with good grammar too, let us stick to that, which in turn certainly help us in cultivating usage of good English with grammar everywhere.
Further it is also a kind of practice not in good taste, to start the paragraphs with small letters, inserting too many dots between the texts, etc., this too will not look good, the members are in such practice, kindly avoid such practices in future.
