The question what they are asking is very general. It’s very common for any candidate, to be asked. In your case they are asking “why you haven’t go for chemical industry? “. They want to check your communication, attitude in one question. Here the modulation can be observed more, as you are going to respond about your past, so they will catch your expressions too. As you are trying for BPO job, it’s not that much typical for you to get. You can give any reasonable response to them. for e.g. You can say ,
“ I am looking for a job which in shift basis , so that I can pursue higher education in other timings , by joining a course ( which is minimum of 2 years ) related to your chemical field , like chemical tools designing . “
Or
“The salary in that industry is not that much effective, as I am looking for good salary, I entered into BPO sector, I am expecting good salary with my performance “
Etc ….
What ever you respond at that moment, there will be another question based on that, it can be handled with care. Just they want to test your consistency and your stability of mind and as well as your long stay at the company.
Next, about your weak point, you can keep in mind that if not this job, there is always other. So don’t worry for it. At that time of nervous feel, you take long breath and release, it will reduce that feel (But don’t do too much, interviewer also there!). All the Best!
