Mamata Banerjee set out for Darjeeling visit |

The CM Mamata Banerjee has left for a two-day north-bengal visit. She shall attend a tourism fair in Darjeeling and a programme organized by Adivasi Vikash Parishad in Dooars. In her earlier visit to north-bengal in July when she signed the GTA agreement, she had promised the people to revisit after the pujas. So, she kept her commitment. It is heard that she may declare a RS. 190 crore project for the development of Adivasi in the Dooars.
However, the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha(GJMM) leadership is planning to demand at least RS. 1000 crore for the restoration of quake-hit hills of Darjeeling.

We all know that parts of North Bengal including Darjeeling were devastated by the earthquake which struck Sikkim and Darjeeling hills. So, it is a no surprise that the leader of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) should make a demand of Rs.1,000 crores for the affected people to resettle back to normal life. Of course the demand made may look to be on very high side. But if they make a higher demand, at lease they can be sure of getting a reasonable amount of money to be release by the state government. Mamata Bannerjee being a seasoned politician for the last so many years and now in the full command of the state of West Bengal will come out of the situation dealing with things in a statesmanlike and tactful manner. That is what I presume.

Mamta Banerjee is a committed leader, she was welcomed warmly by the leaders of Gorkha janmukti morcha at Darjeeling. She addressed the people at Chaurasta located at the Mal, she was accompanied by Shobhan Chatterjee,Mayor-Kolkata nagar nigam, Anil Verma,etc. She talked to the leaders of GJM. She said she will be demanding 500 crores from the Central Government for restoring the quake affected areas.

Mamata Banerjee is not a responsible Leader but also a committed person who always help others when they are in distress. Within her busy schedule
After the nature tormented North Bengal Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) demanded Rs1000 crores for the damage. She talked with the leaders as well as with the common people regarding the present situation and later is of opinion that she will be demanding RS 500 crores from Central Government for the effected people.
